Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States.

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing personal support to those affected by Pancreatic Cancer through tailored resources, connections and education, and funding for early detection research. Over 43,000 Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year and sadly, only 4% will survive five years. Yet in 2010, the National Cancer Institute allocated only 2% of its funding to pancreatic cancer research.

Whitney knows the weight of this disease and the power of hope. 💜

After losing her father, Mark, in 2021, her family faced pancreatic cancer again just one year later when her mother, Karen, was diagnosed. Today, Karen is a survivor—a powerful reminder of how critical progress and access to care can be.

That contrast between loss and survival fuels Whitney’s commitment as Co-Chair of Carnival for a Cause. She’s honoring her parents while fighting for her children and for future generations who deserve more time, more options, and more hope.

She’s determined to help create more survivor stories and fewer families defined by this disease.

For decades, scientists have known that KRAS mutations drive about 90% of pancreatic cancers. When this gene mutates, it can become stuck in the “on” position—signaling cancer cells to grow and spread uncontrollably.

For years, KRAS was considered “undruggable,” with no effective way to target it.

✨ Now, that’s starting to change.

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that a targeted KRAS inhibitor helped shrink tumors in some patients with a specific KRAS mutation (G12C). While this mutation represents only a small percentage of pancreatic cancer cases, the results mark meaningful progress—and proof that persistent research can unlock possibilities once thought impossible.

💜 Breakthroughs happen because research continues.

Last week, our Board & YPB Members gathered for their first in-person meeting of 2026—a powerful reminder of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. 💜

They reflected on an incredible 2025, raising over $1.5 million to advance pancreatic cancer research and support patients and families—every dollar representing hope.

With that momentum behind them, they mapped out bold goals for 2026. And in true Rolfe spirit, the meeting didn’t end with discussion—it ended with action. Board members assembled care packages for patients in treatment, each one filled with comfort, care, and a reminder that they are never alone. 🫶📦

The momentum is strong—but it continues because of this community.
