Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States.

Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing personal support to those affected by pancreatic cancer through tailored resources, connections and education, and funding for early detection research. Over 43,000 Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year and sadly, only 4% will survive five years. Yet in 2010, the National Cancer Institute allocated only 2% of its funding to pancreatic cancer research.

Early detection saves lives—and it’s where real progress is happening.

Research is gaining momentum, bringing new hope for earlier diagnosis and better outcomes. But too many cases are still found too late.

📊 Survival rates tell the story:
— 44% when found localized
— 17% with regional spread
— 3% once cancer has metastasized

We’re moving in the right direction—but there’s still more to do. With continued support in early detection research, we can shift these numbers and give more people a fighting chance.

We’ve been receiving a lot of calls about recent news on a pancreatic cancer clinical trial—and we hear you. We wanted to gather the most important details for our community and share what we know.

A new targeted therapy from Revolution Medicines, daraxonrasib (RMC-6236), is showing encouraging results. This once-daily pill targets RAS mutations—found in over 90% of pancreatic cancer cases—that were once considered “undruggable.”

💡 In a Phase III trial, patients taking daraxonrasib had a median overall survival of 13.2 months vs. 6.7 months with standard chemotherapy—an important step forward and a sign of real progress.

If you’re exploring clinical trials, we’re here for you—reach out anytime and we’ll help identify options that may be available near you.

Black Americans in the U.S. experience higher rates of pancreatic cancer than other racial and ethnic groups—highlighting differences in access to care, early detection, and treatment. It’s time to raise awareness, advocate for equitable healthcare, and support research that helps improve outcomes for all.

On June 14 at Montrose Harbor, we DASH for Detection to raise awareness, support earlier diagnosis, and help close the gaps that impact too many families. 💜

For 10 years, Team Walk For Juan has made DASH part of their story, coming together each year to honor their coworker and friend, Juan, who passed in 2014. 💜

What started as a small group in 2015 has grown into something so much bigger, bringing together people who have all been impacted by this disease in their own way. For Julie, it’s especially personal. Not only did she lose her friend Juan, but her grandmother and cousin were also affected by pancreatic cancer.

Together, they walk carrying Juan and so many others with them. 🕊️

Be part of the next chapter. 🚶‍♀️💜

The baseball world has lost a true competitor in Phil Garner, a three-time All-Star whose grit, heart, and love for the game defined his life.

Known as “Scrap Iron,” he earned that nickname through the way he played—with toughness, resilience, and a determination that never faded. From helping lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a World Series championship to managing the Houston Astros to their first World Series appearance, he left a lasting mark on the game and on everyone who knew him.

For more than two years, Phil battled pancreatic cancer with that same strength and spirit. As his son, Ty, shared, “Phil never lost his signature spark of life… or his love for baseball, which was with him until the end.”

At Rolfe Foundation, stories like Phil’s are a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Behind every diagnosis is a family, a community, and a legacy that deserves more time.

We honor Phil Garner’s life, his love for the game, and all those impacted by this disease. 💜⚾
