Talking about future medical care can feel hard. But it can also be one of the most meaningful gifts you give your family. šŸ’™

A recent story from UC Davis Health showed that when people have support to talk through their wishes:

āœ”ļø More people share what matters most to them
āœ”ļø Families feel less stress making decisions
āœ”ļø Care better matches what patients actually want

They increased these important conversations from about 10% to over 70% by making them a normal part of care, not something left until a crisis.

At Tuesday Health, we help guide these conversations every day. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

It’s not about having all the answers today.
It’s about starting the conversation. šŸ’¬

If you’ve ever thought about what matters most to you or your loved one, this is your sign to talk about it.

UC Davis Health improved advance care planning through systemwide, team‑based efforts, boosting document completion rates, advancing equity and ensuring care aligns with patients’ values.

If you’ve ever cared for someone you love, you know how overwhelming it can feel.

A new study shows that caregivers play a huge role in helping patients stay well—but they’re often left without the support they need.

Nurses shared that the most helpful things for caregivers are:
ā¤ļø Clear communication
šŸ¤ Feeling seen and supported
šŸ“ž Ongoing guidance, even after leaving the hospital

At Tuesday Health, we believe caregivers deserve just as much support as patients.

That’s why our team is here for you too—helping you navigate decisions, manage symptoms, and feel more confident every step of the way.

You don’t have to do this alone.

The people who love you most may one day be asked to make decisions for you.

Often in real time. Often without much notice.

And one question will matter more than anything else: ā€œWhat would they have wanted?ā€

On National Healthcare Decisions Day, it’s a meaningful time to start that conversation. Because when wishes are clear, families don’t have to guess.

If you’re ready to take the next step, you can also document your wishes using free, state-specific advance directive forms here:

Starting the conversation is often the hardest part.

Advance care planning doesn’t need to begin with forms or formal decisions. It can start with a simple question. A few places to begin:

• What matters most to you if your health changes?
• What does a good day look like right now?
• Are there any treatments you feel strongly about wanting or not wanting?
• Who would you trust to make decisions if you couldn’t?

You don’t need all the answers. Just a place to begin.

Advance care planning is often misunderstood. It’s not about preparing for the worst or giving up hope. It’s about making sure your care reflects what matters

🌟 We’re Tuesday People 🌟

Our We’re Tuesday People campaign highlights the people behind our mission and the passion that drives our work every day. Today, we’re excited to spotlight another team member making a meaningful impact.

✨ Whitney Senecal ✨

I joined Tuesday Health because of its unwavering commitment to delivering compassionate, personalized care to people facing serious illness. Seeing how intentionally our teams show up for members, not just with expertise, but with genuine empathy and human connection, made it clear this is a place where care truly means something.

šŸ’™ Why Tuesday Health
Healthcare can feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate, especially during life’s most vulnerable moments. Tuesday Health’s mission to support and empower people with compassion and dignity aligns deeply with my values. I want my work to genuinely help others, and being part of a team that brings clarity, comfort, and humanity to those who need it most is exactly the kind of impact I aspire to make.

We’re so glad to have Whitney on Team Tuesday šŸ’™

It’s one of the most important decisions a family may ever have to make, and one of the few they’re often asked to make without you.

In a moment of urgency, someone turns to your loved ones and asks: ā€œWhat would they have wanted?ā€

Too often, the answer isn’t clear.

Ahead of National Healthcare Decisions Day, we’re reflecting on why advance care planning matters, and how these conversations can bring clarity to difficult moments.

It’s not just about documentation. It’s about making sure care reflects what matters most.

🌟 We’re Tuesday People🌟

Today, we’re proud to spotlight another team member who brings both compassion and purpose to Tuesday Health, Rachel.

šŸ’™ Why Tuesday Health
If I can do anything to make someone’s last days more comfortable and positive, I am all for it. That belief aligns completely with Tuesday Health’s mission.

šŸ’« Personal Connection
My grandmother passed away before the age of 60. She was my guardian, and I’ve always wondered what could have been done differently. Where was the support when it was needed? Growing up in a rural county with limited resources shaped how I see healthcare access. I strongly believe that if programs like Tuesday Health had been available, my grandmother’s journey could have been different.

šŸš€ Making an Impact
I’m especially excited about our tablet program. For members who live in rural areas or lack transportation, it’s an incredible way to ensure they receive the care they need. I love that it’s so user friendly that even someone with zero experience using a tablet can feel comfortable. By helping members understand that care is available when they need it, without leaving their homes, I hope to make a meaningful difference in the future of healthcare.

We’re grateful to have Rachel on Team Tuesday šŸ’™

Many people think palliative care means hospice. It doesn’t.

Palliative care can begin at any stage of serious illness and can be provided alongside treatment. It focuses on relieving symptoms, reducing stress, and helping families feel supported and informed.

In our latest blog, we share Maxine’s journey and how consistent, relationship-based care helped her feel more confident and connected, not just managing illness, but living beyond it.

At Tuesday Health:
• We come to you
• We coordinate with your doctors
• We support caregivers
• We focus on what matters most

And 94% of our surveyed patients report being highly satisfied with their care.

More families are choosing comfort-focused care after an ICU stay.

According to a recent report from U.S. News & World Report, more seniors are transitioning from the ICU to hospice care than in previous years. At the same time, hospital palliative care consultations have nearly doubled.

What does that mean? It means more families are having important conversations about:
• What matters most
• How someone wants to feel
• Where they want to spend their time

ICU care can be life-saving, but for some people with serious illness, comfort and quality of life become the priority.

These are not easy decisions. They require clarity, support, and honest communication.

At Tuesday Health, we help families talk through goals, understand options, and make decisions that reflect their values. No one should have to navigate these moments alone.

If you have questions about palliative care, we’re here to help.

🌟 We’re Tuesday People 🌟

Our We’re Tuesday People campaign highlights the people behind our mission, the stories, experiences, and passions that drive the work we do every day. Today, we’re excited to welcome one of our newest team members.

✨ Welcome, Garth Groshans Jr, PhD! ✨

Before coming to Tuesday Health, I worked in software engineering roles that were educational but lacked deeper impact. My background is in the sciences, and it has always been a dream of mine to use my technical skills in a scientific or medical field. When I learned about the impactful work happening at Tuesday Health, I knew it was an opportunity to make a real difference that I couldn’t pass up.

šŸ’™ Why Tuesday Health
My core value as an engineer is that technology should improve people’s lives. Here, I’m not just writing code for the sake of software. I’m building tools that actively support palliative care. Knowing that my daily work directly improves people’s wellbeing gives me a profound sense of purpose.

šŸ’« Personal Connection
My commitment to supportive care is rooted in my upbringing. My mom spent her career as an ICU nurse, and I grew up hearing her stories of comforting patients and families in their most vulnerable moments. She recently came out of retirement to work as a palliative care RN. Being at Tuesday Health feels like my journey has come full circle, allowing me to use my technical skills to empower clinicians like my mom to deliver life-changing care.

šŸš€ Making an Impact
I truly believe every coding change I make, whether squashing a bug or improving a workflow, directly improves a clinician’s daily experience. When we build seamless, intuitive tools, we remove friction so clinicians can focus entirely on patients. That is how I hope to help reshape the future of healthcare.

We’re so grateful to have Garth on Team Tuesday. Welcome! šŸ’™
