The Illinois Primary Healthcare Association (IPHCA)’s Consumer Board Dedication Award is presented to a community health center board member who exemplifies a high level of interest and dedication to the delivery of primary healthcare in our communities. This year, the honoree is Erie’s own amazing patient board member, Michael Boyd!

Whether it's traveling to Washington D.C. to advocate for community health centers on Capitol Hill, grabbing a shovel to help break ground on the Erie Sankofa Village Health Center, or sharing his lived experience at a board meeting, Michael is always there, toting his little black backpack - which must be stuffed with tons of wisdom. Michael brings his natural storytelling ability to advocacy efforts and his volunteer work on Erie's board.

We are so proud that Michael Boyd has received this award from the IPHCA! It is a well-deserved recognition. Congratulations!

The Lending Hands for Life Program would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s AIDS Run & Walk!

Team Erie was bigger than ever, with 70 participants, all of whom played vital roles in helping us surpass our $8,000 fundraising goal. We raised $9,257 to date!

These funds go directly toward supporting the vital services our Lending Hands for Life Team provides to patients living with and vulnerable to HIV.

Thank you to our Erie community for your dedication and generosity!

It is not safe for a baby to sleep in an adult bed (with or without people). Your baby can sleep in your room in their own crib or bassinet, where they will be close. This simple practice can prevent sudden infant death syndrome. Keep baby safe, and sound asleep.
