I’m honored to have created the health coaching module for . I’ve been outspoken about the importance of including health coaches in the menopausal conversation. I’ve knocked on many doors, called a ton of clinicians, and pleaded with menopause event organizers.

•bring in health coaches to support your patients
•put health coaches on stage to talk about lifestyle behavior changes
• build health coaching into your medical models

Laura Okafor, the founder of Perry Academy, already knew how essential health coaches were to a woman’s health journey. She is not only making sure health coaches have a place to learn more about perimenopause from trusted experts, but she’s also making sure the trusted experts learn about health coaching!

If you’re a health coach and you’re working with women, this certification is for you. And while you’re there, you’ll earn CE’s. It’s a win-win.

You just found a potential menopause care expert. That’s amazing. However, you need to make sure that the physician AND the office align with your goals, wellness vision, and values. You may be paying out of pocket, or you may have insurance covering the appointment. Either way, it’s on you to ask the right questions and then decide if it’s the right place for you. More in cash pay clinicians soon…

Navigating menopause means becoming the best advocate for yourself. Use my 5 questions to ask any physician office before you schedule. Linked in profile.

Your OBGYN delivered your babies, but she/he is not your menopause care expert. That’s ok. It’s up to you to become a better self-advocate. You need to know your numbers- not memorize lab values, but be partnered with a physician who understands menopause and how to navigate your second act.

Start by interviewing a new clinician’s office. Talk with the head nurse, the office manager, whoever is there better know how the operation works. Stop wasting your time and money.

Grab my 5 questions to ask in the profile. Your welcome.

P.S. keep your OBGYN- they belong on your team, too.

OBGYN ≠ Menopause Care Expert

There’s room for two. Building your healthcare team takes intention. The sooner you realize that the doctor who delivered your babies may not be educated in menopause care, the less frustrated you will be. Move on.

Use my 5 proven questions to help you find the trusted, menopause care expert you deserve.

The Menopause Society is a good place to start, but they are not all equal either. Don’t assume their certification qualifies them for your needs. You are at the helm of your menopause journey.

Are you living the life that truly reflects who you are? In my latest podcast episode, I speak with about authenticity in midlife, a time when many women begin to ditch expectations, question old roles, and reconnect with what actually matters to them.

Dr. Saltz, MD is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell School of Medicine, a psychoanalyst with the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, and a nationally recognized expert on relationships, mental health, and human sexuality. She is also a bestselling author and frequent contributor to major media outlets.

In this episode, we explore how midlife can be a powerful turning point, an opportunity to become more honest with yourself about your needs, your voice, and the life you want to build next.

As we head into International Women’s Day this weekend, it’s a powerful reminder that every woman deserves the confidence and support to live in alignment with who she truly is.

How do you stick to your exercise plan when you’re not feeling it? You review your reasons for versus your reasons against. It’s that simple.

1. I want to be badass at 95
2. I’m a better person after I move
3. I’ve reversed my osteoporosis to osteopenia and weight training is part of the equation

It’s my lifestyle and I’m sticking to it 💪

Thank you for a copy of The Bedroom Gap. I’ve been taking testosterone for 30 years and it is NOT the magic bullet like so many physicians on social media say. We have to put the work in, just like going to the gym.

1. Reframe what you really want sexually
2. Educate yourself on sexual health, function, and pleasure
3. Build a sexual pleasure toolkit- vi*****rs, books, app subscriptions, women-centric p**n, l**e, new un**es- whatever floats your boat
4. Show-up for yourself and and try something new - consistency always wins :)

What’s the worst that can happen?

A few of my favs:

Enjoy the weekend, xoxo

In order for midlife women and beyond to make the initial decision to implement a new healthy habit, they need to understand what it means and the why behind it. Many women that I work with or have spoken to do one of two things when they hear new information:

1. Freeze and do nothing due to overwhelm
2. Make changes based on something they heard or were told, but don’t understand why, and then lose their motivation to sustain it.

It’s up to you to educate yourself with trusted resources. It’s confusing out there, especially around the topic of nutrition, specifically protein, and women navigating menopause.

Tune in to the Health Trip Podcast #132 and learn what Muscle Protein Synthesis is, why it matters in midlife and beyond, and realistic strategies to achieve your goals.

My guest, is one of the world’s top researchers on muscle health, protein metabolism, and aging. Dr. Phillips is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and a member of the School of Medicine at McMaster University. He is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Skeletal Muscle Health.
