It’s hard to find words big enough to capture what John Barnes meant to me - and to so many others. His work didn’t just change the way I practice bodywork; it changed the way I live and even see the world.

John’s Myofascial Release approach serves as a bridge connecting many aspects of my life - from my transformational dance practice to years of shamanic study and time spent with Indigenous communities. I vividly remember my first seminar, when I felt an immediate sense of home in his approach. I was so inspired that I cleared my schedule for the week and signed up for the next seminar right away.

Working with the fascia - from his approach, experience and perspective - have greatly transformed the way I view and work with the human body and human being. This 3-dimensional web of connective tissue is SO much more than just a physical structure in the body. It’s the great connector of our body, mind and spirit.

As I sit here reflecting on my time studying with John over the past 14 years, many of the profound moments I remember from seminars were humorous ones that bring a smile to my face and laughter that touches my heart. John’s wisdom, humor, and kindness touched so many of us.

We all know that as humans, we’re not here forever. But some people feel like they could be. John was one of those rare souls.

He’ll live on, in our hearts, through his teachings, and in every person whose life he helped open and heal. Thank you so much for all that you brought to this world, John. RIP🙏🏼🕊️💕

What a beautiful journey this year has been.

Women’s circles are sacred spaces - places to come exactly as you are. No masks, no fixing, no “shoulds.” Just being present, seen, and heard for who you truly are.

In circle, we remember that healing doesn’t always come from doing, but from being - being witnessed, being held, being connected with other women walking their own paths of growth and renewal.

Tonight marks our final circle of 2025, and what an honor it’s been to hold this space over the past year. Every story shared, every tear, every moment of laughter and silence has been medicine.

Here’s to the circles yet to come in the new year - to continuing to gather, heal, and rise together.

Foam rolling is amazing…but it’s only half the story.

When you release tension in your fascia, you’re not just working on one tight spot. Fascia is one continuous web, so any change in one area affects your whole body. That’s why your system needs time and gentle movement afterward to really soak in the benefits.

After deeper myofascial work (or a big foam rolling session), think: less hustle, more softness. Give yourself 24–48 hours of rest and only easy, nourishing movement so your body doesn’t snap back into old holding patterns. Slow walks, gentle stretching, mindful mobility…this is where integration really happens.

Inside my Fluid Fascia course, we always follow release work with simple, gentle movement so your body can learn new, healthier ways to move and support you. If you want to take it further, modalities like Feldenkrais or the Alexander Technique pair beautifully with myofascial release as a long-term self-care practice.

If this is speaking to you, this is your sign: today is the last day to enjoy 20% off all online courses. Give your fascia (and your future self) some love.

To foam roll or not to foam roll — that’s the question that keeps coming up!

Does it *really* work? Can rolling on those tight areas actually help release the fascia?

The answer: yes…and no.

Foam rolling can be powerful - when done *properly*. A few quick rolls only boost circulation a bit. But to create true change in your fascia, time and duration are of the essence.

Here’s the secret: fascia responds best when invited to release gently. It takes a minute or two just to start releasing. Stay for at least 3 minutes per muscle group and you’ll support deeper softening, better recovery, and smoother movement for up to 72 hours afterward.

Once you feel that release, move gently - let your fascia reintegrate as your body finds new ease and flow.

Reflections on this day of gratitude and remembrance.

Dance has always been a sacred practice for me—a way to connect with my heart and feel what words cannot yet express. This morning, I danced in honor of what I’m grateful for: you, those I work alongside, my loved ones, my life, and my healthy body.

I also danced in recognition of the Indigenous peoples who have been on this land since time immemorial, and to honor those whose lives were tragically harmed through the colonization of this nation. Since childhood, I’ve felt a deep connection to the earth and to Indigenous communities. Learning about the Native peoples of this land has always made my heart feel safe and at home.

As an adult, I’ve been honored to spend time connecting with the Lakota Oglala Nation and other Indigenous communities. These experiences have brought deep healing to my heart and profound reverence for Indigenous peoples who continue to walk beside us today.

Today, I give thanks and hope you find meaningful connection with loved ones. May we also remember the true history of this day—one that differs from what many of us learned in school. There are many ways to support Native communities: follow Indigenous voices and creators such as , donate to Native-led organizations, and learn whose ancestral land you live upon through resources like

The T-shirt (depicted in the second photo) was the shirt I danced in this morning and is created by

Today and every day, may we give thanks, feel gratitude in our hearts, and connect with community and love whenever we can.

Tension in areas like the shoulders, jaw, and lower back can signal more than just physical strain.

As they say, “the issues are in your tissues,” and these symptoms may reflect unprocessed emotional energy stored in the body’s fascia, which is a web of connective tissue embedding everything beneath the skin, from the largest muscle group down to the tiniest cells.

Swipe right to learn more how your issues could be showing up in your tissues.

Feeling the holiday stress creeping in? You’re not alone. In so many recent chats with coaching and bodywork clients, I’ve seen the same signs—shoulders hunched, shallow breaths, and that anxious swirl just thinking about the chaos that holidays can bring. I hear it all the time: “I’m just doing my best to keep my sh*t together!”

This season is supposed to be joyful, yet gift shopping, tough family moments, and never-ending to-do lists can make it totally overwhelming. If you’ve found yourself tense after a shopping trip, jaw-clenched at dinner, or exhausted from running around, your body is talking - and it’s important to listen.

Did you know that tuning into these signals can help stop stress before it boils over?

It’s a simple, powerful skill, and I’m sharing one easy way to start. Swipe right to see how you can break the stress cycle now.

Need more support? DM me to learn about 1:1 somatic coaching support (virtual option available) or come join my online Fluidify Fascia & Wellness community.

In the meantime, be gentle with yourself and take good care of you this holiday season!

Embracing the power of the pause as we move through fall and eventually into winter, my body—and spirit—are asking me to slow down.

After over twenty years of providing bodywork, I’ve learned (often the hard way) that honoring my own limits is essential if I want to show up for others with integrity and excellence. This season, I’m letting myself align with the natural rhythms of rest and renewal.

Slowing down has included taking annual fall trips with my husband. Here are some moments from our recent getaway to Joshua Tree and Sequoia National Park—where the energy of both desert and forest became powerful teachers for me. Nature continues to offer wisdom that I could never learn in any book or classroom.

As you scroll through these photos, take a breath. Notice what you feel. Let the images speak to you. What do they awaken? I’d love for you to share your reflections in the comments below.

I’m also excited to announce a new offering coming soon to my Fluidify streaming site: practices that have supported my own healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Stay tuned for more details in the days ahead!

Meanwhile, let yourself pause with these images, feel whatever arises, and let’s nourish this winter season—together.

Until then be well , and take good care of you.
