The AF Regent provides services to Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard healthcare executives and managers serving throughout the world who are responsible for managing home station and expeditionary theater medical service operations, planning, force readiness, and global patient movement. These services augment the United States’ military and diplomatic missions by supporting urban centers and rural landscapes where the healthcare industry constitutes a major economic force. As hospital administrators and healthcare leaders, we constantly strive to advance all facets of healthcare operations and healthcare delivery. One of our primary objectives is to foster a culture of continuous process improvement in an effort to create a more pleasant and enjoyable patient experience.

This is an interesting article on how some leading medical treatment facilities are leveraging the benefits of an approach called "design thinking" to reimagine the delivery of healthcare and enhance the patient experience.

What are your thoughts? Is the process of implementing and executing "design thinking" worth the time and effort required? Do you believe it will yield a reasonable ROI?

TRICARE Reform implementation on 1 Jan 18...

The FY17 National Defense Authorization Act provided the requirements to reform the TRICARE benefit. The attached link to the Interim Final Rule (policy document) describes some of the significant and overarching changes.
