For over 15 years, our Women’s Wellness Clinic has helped women of all ages receive necessary care for a variety of medical needs, including obstetric services and gynecological care.

Maternal Health Awareness Day is a time to bring attention to the risks and challenges women face during maternity. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), over 80% of deaths in or after pregnancy are preventable, many of which are attributed to social conditions and access to quality care.

Thanks to our specialists and wellness experts at St. Bernard Hospital, we have successfully provided childbearing women on the South Side the necessary prenatal support and instruction to care for themselves and their children.
If you or a loved one is expecting, St. Bernard is here to help!

The American Thyroid Association found that 20 million Americans live with some form of a thyroid condition, but 60% of them have not received a proper diagnosis.

January is Thyroid Awareness Month, the perfect time to get informed. This vital gland helps the body regulate metabolism and directly impacts the body’s energy for heart rate, oxygen and body temperature.

An undiagnosed thyroid condition can lead to severe health complications, including osteoporosis. Undergoing a screening procedure can help detect thyroid related diseases and cancers early so you can better manage your health.

St. Bernard Hospital is excited to welcome English Robinson to her new role as Senior Director of the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC).

Prior to joining St. Bernard Hospital, English served in operations management and leadership roles at various health care facilities across Illinois, including Family Christian Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center. Most recently, she was Executive Director of Partners In Health.

As senior director, she will have responsibility for operational management of all services and activities in the ACC, including scheduling, customer service, workflow, physician collaboration, clinical service and diagnostic operations.

The ACC, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is a vital part of St. Bernard Hospital providing outpatient services to help patients maintain their health. With English in this new position, bringing her wisdom, experience and passion to serve, we are confident that the ACC will exceed its potential to serve the South Side of Chicago.

It’s National Pharmacists Day and today we are celebrating all the hard work our pharmacists at St. Bernard have accomplished! If you need accessible medications, St. Bernard Hospital has two full-service pharmacies close to home.
So much of our healthcare depends on the trust put into these medical professionals. Pharmacists help people access needed medications, but their work goes beyond just dispensing. Tracking and monitoring patient health, along with effective counsel to patients, are critical roles for our personal and public health.
If you know a pharmacist, thank them for all they do; their work matters and they definitely deserve it!
