Did you know coughing into your arm prevents the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like the common cold? According to Biology Insights, respiratory droplets from a single cough can travel up to 6 feet, spreading germs to people nearby.

Not all illnesses can be avoided, but simple actions make a big difference. Covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, washing hands regularly, avoiding close contact when sick, and maintaining a healthy immune system through proper nutrition and rest can help keep you and your loved ones healthy.

If you or a loved one is experiencing cold or flu symptoms, schedule an appointment at St. Bernard Hospital for care and information. Visit www.stbh.org.
