This February, MetroBoard joins the nation in celebrating Black History Month. While we honor the giants whose shoulders we stand on, we also recognize the history being made right here in Chicago by our members, partners, and community leaders. ❤️💛💚

For us, Black history isn’t just a month of reflection—it’s a daily commitment to economic empowerment, social justice, and professional excellence. We aren't just watching history; we are building the legacy of the next generation.

The Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League answered that call this MLK Day! ✨ We spent our first service project of the year at Carter G. Woodson Elementary, pouring love and energy into their Pre-K building.

From revitalizing the recreation room to organizing and beautifying the learning environment, our volunteers showed up to ensure Chicago’s future leaders have a space they can thrive in.

A massive thank you to the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation for sponsoring this event, and all of our volunteers for helping us make this vision a reality.

🌟 Volunteer with MetroBoard + Nourishing Hope!

Join us on Saturday, November 22 (9:00–11:30 AM) as we come together to help pack and prepare food for families in need. Volunteers will help sort and pack produce, dry goods, and dairy/freezer items — all to support Nourishing Hope’s mission to fight food insecurity across our community.

👟 Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes . Some moderate lifting may be required.
