We are proud to highlight the work of our Founder and Principal John Sykes, an integrated practitioner, somatic abolitionist, and facilitator dedicated to cultivating spaces of healing, connection, and growth.
John believes that healing begins in connection with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. Their work centers curiosity, compassion, and the creative process of becoming. John approaches therapy as a co-created relationship, where both client and therapist bring lived experience and wisdom toward healing and liberation.
John enjoys working with children, teens, and adults navigating identity, relationships, trauma, and life transitions. They also support groups and teams processing the impacts of systemic oppression, loss, and collective stress. Their practice invites authenticity, reflection, and the chance to reconnect with belonging and agency.
Grounded in relational, anti-racist, liberatory, and trauma informed practice, John supports individuals and communities in deepening self awareness and building vitality. They are a facilitator of healing who brings both rigor and humanity to every space they enter.
John holds degrees from Northeastern Illinois University and Loyola University Chicago and brings decades of experience in community mental health, trauma treatment, clinical leadership, and teaching on decolonizing practice and reflective supervision.
Outside of work, John enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with their spouse and dog. We are grateful for their vision, leadership, and commitment to collective healing.
