Our Ancora neighborhood enjoyed a beautiful Christmas celebration on monday filled with music, movement, and joy. From karaoke favorites to holiday treats and dancing, the room was full of laughter, smiles, and shared moments that truly mattered. This Wednesday, we gathered to celebrate the season with our residents at our annual Christmas party, it was truly a beautiful day filled with joy, music, and connection. 🎄❤️

We enjoyed wonderful holiday entertainment by Michael and Noreen, who filled the room with favorite Christmas songs that had everyone smiling, singing along, and soaking in the spirit of the season.

Our residents enjoyed delicious food prepared by our amazing Dining Services team, and each resident received a special Christmas gift personally handed out by our Executive Director, LaDon. 🎁

We started our celebration with our Healing Paws for the Holidays program . 🐾🎄
Our residents were all smiles during this heartwarming therapy dog visit with Piper from Canine Therapy Corps. From gentle cuddles to wagging tails and joyful laughter, this special program brought comfort, connection, and holiday cheer throughout our community. Moments like these remind us of the healing power of companionship during the season.

🎄 Lifelong Learning and Creative Corner at SJV 🎄

On Tuesday, residents enjoyed a day filled with creativity, learning, and holiday spirit. We explored the history of the Christmas tree during our Lifelong Learning session, sparking conversation, memories, and meaningful discussion.

This was followed by a Mini Christmas Tree Decorating Party, where each resident decorated their very own mini Christmas tree to take with them. Using ornaments, garland, and festive touches, residents created personalized trees to enjoy in their rooms throughout the season.

Moments like these remind us that learning, creativity, and connection are at the heart of life enrichment. ❤️✨

Traditions That Bind: Kwanzaa ❤️💚🖤

As part of our Festival of Traditions celebration , residents had the opportunity to visit our Kwanzaa table, where they learned about this meaningful cultural celebration traditionally observed December 26 through January 1.

Residents explored the Seven Principles (Nguzo Saba), which emphasize unity, purpose, responsibility, and collective growth, while enjoying culturally inspired foods such as collard greens and sweet potato bites. Facts and trivia handouts encouraged conversation, learning, and engagement as residents moved throughout the festival at their own pace.

This table offered a welcoming space for cultural appreciation, reflection, and connection , honoring the traditions that truly bind us together. 🖤❤️💚
