🍁 Thanksgiving Family & Friends Luncheon at SJV 🍁

Today our community came together for a warm and joyful Thanksgiving celebration. Residents and families enjoyed a festive meal, beautiful décor, musical entertainment and a room filled with gratitude and connection.

Dining Services and the Life Enrichment Department worked hand-in-hand to create a true five-star restaurant experience with a delicious holiday meal made by our amazing chefs! Thank you to all of our residents and families for joining us and making this celebration so special. 🧡

Yesterday our residents, families, and associates gathered for something truly special ,our Living Legends Program. 💛

We celebrated the incredible life stories of several of our cherished residents who chose to share their personal histories, treasured memories, and proudest moments with our community. It was powerful watching old photographs come to life as they spoke from childhood pictures and family portraits to moments of service, accomplishment, and joy.

Our residents lit up seeing their younger selves on the big screen, and their peers were honored to witness their journeys. Our community is filled with veterans, nurses, proud parents, world travelers, and so many beautifully lived lives , each one a reminder of the strength and wisdom in our building.

This time of year, as we reflect and give thanks, yesterday reminded us that every resident carries a legacy worth celebrating. ❤️

Yesterday our leadership team came together for a beautiful Manager-Giving Cultural Potluck , a moment filled with connection, gratitude, and flavors from around the world. Each leader brought a special holiday dish from their culture, shared stories, offered prayers, and truly fellowshipped as one family with all associates.

Moments like this remind us that SJV is more than a workplace… it’s a community grounded in love, unity, and purpose. ❤️

A Special Virtual Trip to Paris at SJV! 🇫🇷🗼💙

On Wednesday, our residents enjoyed a beautiful and memorable experience led by one of our very own , Karen, a proud retired flight attendant whose favorite destination has always been Paris, the city her family is from.

Karen took us on a Virtual Travelodge to Paris, sharing fun facts, personal memories, and stories about iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and other historic treasures throughout the city. The residents were fully engaged, asking questions and soaking in every moment.

To complete our Parisian adventure, our Dining Services team provided a French-inspired charcuterie board filled with cheeses, meats, and crackers, the perfect touch for a day dedicated to culture, travel, and connection.

Moments like this remind us how powerful it is to celebrate the unique life stories of our residents.

🎉 Happy National Mickey Mouse Day from SJV! 🐭

On Tuesday, our residents took a magical trip down memory lane as we celebrated National Mickey Mouse Day!

We started by watching the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie (1928), which brought back so many smiles and memories. After that, we got creative with adorable Mickey Mouse cake crafts and festive Mickey ornaments.

The joy, nostalgia, and laughter filled the room , moments like these are pure magic at SJV.

Today, we proudly celebrated the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our Veterans. 🇺🇸

A heartfelt thank you to Commander O’Carroll and the Cadets from Rickover Naval Academy High School for joining us in a special Veterans Day March that filled our community with pride and gratitude. Your presence brought smiles, tears, and a deep sense of honor to our residents and associates.

From the inspiring march to the heartfelt pinning ceremony and fellowship that followed, today was a beautiful reminder of service, unity, and compassion.
