Word is out that an announcement about a reorganization of the CDC will include elimination of the Division of Prevention and likely other departments with the CDC. A significant reduction in workforce is also expected. Announcement of the cuts is expected to come by Thursday or Friday if not sooner.

Ahead of the announcement, HIV advocates and organizations are urging people to call their U.S. Representative or Senator to preserve the CDC and its HIV prevention division.
