Drawing from lived experience and professional expertise I am passionate about supporting families with disabilities and strengthening community connections.

Ticket sales by me will be donated to No Apology Events, creating inclusive, judgment‑free spaces for families with disabilities.

The Blue Envelope Program has officially PASSED the House Committee!!!

Not one vote against it. Not one.

Today was the first major gauntlet and we cleared it together. This is what happens when advocacy meets action. This is what happens when families, first responders, and community leaders lock arms and refuse to quit.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who completed a witness slip. Your voice mattered. And it was heard.

Deep gratitude to and all of the co-sponsors for championing this bill, and to Senator Cristina Castro for partnering with us to help move this forward. Leadership like this changes lives.

Now we move to the SENATE.

One step closer to stronger protections.
One step closer to safer interactions.
One step closer to making inclusion the standard, not the exception.

We are not done.... There is still more to go!

Kelly Wesolek, a 29-year-old woman from Franklin Park, has been selected to participate in an international art exhibition for artists with developmental disabilities, where her work will be displayed alongside 100 works from 30 countries.

Caregiver burnout doesn’t have a look.

It’s quiet and unsuspecting.

It’s not mental breakdowns in public, or messy buns and puffy eyes.

(Although sometimes it can be….)

Usually though,

It’s a smile that lingers and a quick “I’m fine” without further explanation.

It’s a cry in the bathroom before wiping your tears and continuing on.

It’s cracking a joke in the emergency room because it’s easier than letting yourself fall apart in that moment.

It’s remembering every medication, every appointment and years of medical history,

but forgetting if you ate today.

And sometimes it looks like you have it altogether…

because we’ve become pros at hiding in plain sight.

Caregiver burnout doesn’t have a look because we have learned along the way that it is easier to hide the hard and the uncomfortable than it is to explain a life no one will understand.

So we cry in the bathroom.
We wipe our tears.
We put on a smile.
We say we’re fine.

And we keep going…

Burnt out or not.
