The friendliest cowpokes in field case management recently paid a visit to IWCI's Annual Seminar in Indianapolis. In addition to exhibiting at "The Wild West: Blazing Trails Together" themed event, Rising's Vice President of Field Care Management Tim Rankin contributed his insights to the "Navigating Workers' Comp: a 360 Degree Perspective" panel discussion. And when it was time to mosey back to the Carmel office, Karen Hickner's cleverly designed covered wagon was donated to Chapelwood Elementary. The school intends to give it a new home in its library, creating a cozy space for young readers to engage their imaginations.

Prior to renovations, our fourth floor suite had remained unchanged since our 2007 move-in. It was a great day on the fairway for the Indiana Workers Compensation Institute’s (IWCI) annual golf outing. The IWCI’s mission is to expand industry knowledge for new and established professionals, including providing financial support for charities and educational institutions whose programs benefit the workers' compensation community. Organizing Rising’s presence at this year’s event was our VP of Field Case Management and IWCI board member, Tim Rankin, with a Rising-sponsored golf team comprised of claims reps from Eastern Alliance Insurance Group and Rising’s own Julie Jansen.

Kudos to Jim O’Brien for winning Rising’s quarterly Elevate Award for “Process Improvement/Innovation." Jim has developed an enhanced data migration methodology for data import and export processes. Using cloud technologies, this new efficiency can manage and consolidate data from multiple sources onto a single, common platform with minimal coding. Rising is targeting this new platform to administer data imports from a variety of sources such as state fee schedules, Medicare data, service codes and more, enhancing the efficiencies of both regulatory/compliance and operational protocols. Kudos to Daniel O’Callaghan for winning Rising’s quarterly Elevate Award for demonstrating “Bushido,“ a core value encompassing empathy, accountability, loyalty, resourcefulness, and respect. Leveraging Rising’s extensive integration experience with clients’ Guidewire claims systems, Daniel is overseeing Rising’s formal entry into the Guidewire Marketplace with the buildout of an integration Accelerator for Guidewire Cloud ClaimCenter. This Accelerator will fast-track the integration process for Rising managed care clients who use Guidewire, while reducing IT resource demands. Daniel’s leadership of this high-impact project is being done in conjunction with his day-to-day responsibilities of continuously developing software enhancements for Rising’s proprietary VISION™ platform. Daniel’s deadline-driven accountability in all aspects of his role, coupled with his dedication to both colleagues and client users, is truly commendable!

The floral fun continues with another terrarium team building workshop. This time, members of Rising's field case management unit were joined by Objective Surgical's Angela Giles and Angie Cummins and Eastern Alliance's Jennifer Conlon and Karla Weathersby. After an overview of plant care and design at Alice's Garden Indy, attendees created their own fishbowl-sized succulent ecosystems. This hands-on event is just one of the many unique activities Rising's Carmel, IN office hosts quarterly for clients and partners.
