Boundless enthusiasm fuels her community engagement as a hospice nurse, actor, taiji and yoga teacher, cultural producer, and professor. Mia is the Executive Director of the not-for-profit group Asian American Arts Chicago, which produces the EVOLUTION Asian American Arts Festival, May 2-3, 2026. www.MiaPark.com

rest in peace 고모할머니! 💕 our great aunt left her earthly confine at 108 years old. (we thought she was 106!)

she dedicated her life being kind to others. she never charged money as a TB doctor in korea.

she opened a hospice on a mountain side so terminal clients could live in dignity.

she started a christian convent so that women deep in their faith could live their truth.

she donated all her land and money decades before she passed.

she said i was her favorite 😍. lucky us that we got to see her just weeks ago! she inspired thousands of people, and won several awards that she never talked about.

i’m so excited to see her again in the great beyond. thanks for being such a wonderful human! here’s a nice korean article on her:
