The annual Donna Jones Moritsugu Memorial Award honors the memory of the beloved late wife of Dr. Kenneth P. Moritsugu, former Deputy Surgeon General of the United States. The American Osteopathic Foundation’s (AOF) Outstanding Resident of the Year Award (OROTY) recognizes Osteopathic medical residents who exemplify altruism, while demonstrating clinical excellence, leadership, and dedication to Osteopathic, patient-centered care. This prestigious award highlights residents whose commitment to Osteopathic principles distinguishes them within their program and the profession.

Generously funded by the American Osteopathic Foundation, the American Osteopathic Association's Training in Policy Studies (TIPS) program is a policy-based program that provides an understanding of current health care policy issues while also facilitating leadership opportunities.

This program serves as an initial leadership and policy program for residents wishing to become more active within the Osteopathic profession. TIPS fellows have gone on to serve in leadership and policy development roles both within and outside of the Osteopathic community. Some have also continued their policy training by participating in the Health Policy Fellowship program, which has produced over 20 deans and college of Osteopathic medicine presidents.
