Your stomach (belly, tummy, abdomen, midsection) was not built to hold in the pressures of body discrimination, objectification (dehumanization), and oppression. Your stomach is meant to be soft and malleable. To expand and contract. To twist, fold, and even hang. It hold parts of you that keep you living, and maybe even grow the lives of others. Give your stomach permission to rest. To let go. To unclench. To take up space and radically reject a world that tries to minimize her down to her size or appearance. Your stomach is worthy of peace. Breathe in to her and thank her for her abundance. 🖤

*Bodies are meant to be diverse.*

👉🏿 Health is not at the root of why most seek a certain body size or image.

👉🏽 Most bodies are not meant to look like the Eurocentric default “ideal” of the 21st century.

👉🏻The only way we dismantle the hierarchy of bodies forced on us by a well established system of oppression is by refusing to accept it and it’s inhumanity.

Happy Friday 🌱

*•*{You were not born hating this body of yours}*•*
You were born a pure bundle of love, curious and joyfully exploring this Earthen vessel. You were lead down the path of body discontent by your ancestors or your society or your religion or any combination of these. You can choose another path, one of rebellution and reclamation of radical self love. Join me on that journey ➡️ more details to follow. 🫂

🤷🏻‍♀️“I’m trying to ditch diet culture, but still having thoughts about wanting to change my body… is that ok?” ⬆️Tune in to hear the answer. 👩🏻‍⚕️✌🏼💕

*I also want to add the disclaimer that we do not have as much control over our weight as we think and that focusing on weight in essence is disembodying, as it is focusing on an external number versus an internal felt-sense of wellbeing. Even knowing these things, it is normal to desire weight loss in our culture, as we have endured much indoctrination to make us believe this will solve our problems.

Darling body, precious spirit womb, you were never meant to shrink or dull your light. Not for any person, or any construct. You are the universe, dynamic and expansive. I promise to care for you as you care for me. I promise to let your softness take up space, unabashedly. 🤍
