More than 30 runners supported the pediatric specialty care of Shriners Children's in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Among the runners was Conor from Chicago, who sought a way to make his first Chicago Marathon meaningful. That search led him to Shriners Children’s Chicago, with help from his girlfriend, Mary, a former patient. Read more about Team Shriners. https://ow.ly/Kz7S50YneHG.

February 28 is Rare Disease Day. At Shriners Children's Chicago, we care for children with rare diseases like Anaya, who has osteogenesis imperfecta (OI). Anaya first came from Pakistan three years ago for multiple orthopedic surgeries. Born with OI — a brittle bone disease that caused eight fractures at birth — she was able to sit up and attend school for the first time after her 2023 surgeries.
Now in 2026, she and her family have returned for Halo gravity traction and spinal fusion surgery to help her scoliosis. We connecting with Anaya during her stay at the Ronald McDonald House Chicago. Meet Anaya - https://ow.ly/LmgX50YlpYc.
