In 2021, Jayden from Chicago was building a name for himself in youth football when one hit at an elite showcase in Tennessee changed everything. Facing uncertainty about her son’s future, his mom turned to Shriners Children’s Chicago for a second opinion — and found more than medical care. She found hope.

💙 Shriners Children’s Chicago is officially celebrating 100 years of caring for kids.

Our century of care officially began in March 1926, with a 50,000‑square‑foot red brick hospital on what is now our parking lot on the outskirts of Chicago. As patient volumes grew in the 1970s, a new hospital was built on the same grounds—allowing us to expand our reach and continue changing lives.

✨ Here’s to 100 years of hope, healing, and the most AMAZING care anywhere—we can’t wait to keep celebrating with all of you!

Coralyn (13), Emma (11), and Selah (11) were raised together in an orphanage in China, but in 2019, each was adopted by a different family in the U.S. For years, they didn’t know where the others had gone — until a chance photo in a Facebook group helped them reconnect.

All three girls receive care at Shriners Children’s: Coralyn and Selah for craniofacial care for cleft lip and palate at Shriners Children's Chicago and Shriners Children's Southern California, and Emma for prosthetic care for a limb difference at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia. Thanks to Shriners Children's compassionate, family-centered care, they’ve overcome unique medical challenges and are thriving physically, socially, and emotionally.

Today, the girls remain closely connected, united not only by their shared past but also through their care at Shriners Children’s. Their families make a point to plan a reunion trip every year so they can spend time together.
