Federal cannabis policy continues to affect patient access, caregiver protections, and home cultivation across the Midwest, even in states with legal cannabis programs. These graphics explain the practical differences between rescheduling and descheduling cannabis under federal law. Rescheduling keeps cannabis under federal control and leaves patients and caregivers facing ongoing legal uncertainty. Descheduling removes cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act and restores state authority over medical care and home cultivation. For many rural, disabled, and low-income patients, the ability to grow at home is a matter of access, not convenience. That’s why it is critical to contact your federal representatives and urge them to support descheduling as a lasting, patient-centered solution.
