March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to a condition that affects millions of women but is often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or overlooked.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to symptoms like severe pelvic pain, painful periods, infertility, and chronic fatigue. For many women, getting a diagnosis can take years — which is why awareness, education, and early conversations with healthcare providers are so important.

This Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting the impact of women who heal, lead, and serve with purpose. Dr. Atoyebi, our dedicated podiatrist at Loretto Hospital, plays a vital role in helping patients stay active, mobile, and pain-free.

Foot pain isn’t “normal.” Chronic heel pain, diabetic foot concerns, ingrown nails, numbness, or changes in your feet are signs it’s time to see a podiatrist. Early care prevents complications — especially for patients managing diabetes or circulation issues.

This past Friday, Loretto Hospital proudly joined community leaders and elected officials, including Congressman Danny K. Davis , State Representative Camille Y. Lilly, La Shawn K Ford & Cook County Commissioner Tara Stamps, for the Hour of Power Awareness Rally— standing united against heart disease and advocating for women’s heart health. We then brought the message home as our Loretto team wore red and came together for our annual Red Day photo, showing our continued commitment to prevention, awareness, and equitable care. Supporting heart health is central to our mission to serve and uplift our community—today and every day. ❤️
