✨ Permission to Pause ✨

In the hustle of leadership, service, and daily responsibilities, it’s all too easy to feel like we have to be “on” all the time. But mental wellness reminds us of something powerful:

💖 You are allowed to pause without falling behind.

Taking time to rest, reset, and reflect is NOT a sign of weakness—it’s a true form of strength and self-awareness. 🌱 When we give ourselves space to breathe, we return with greater clarity, patience, and purpose. 🙌🏾✨

Today, we invite you to take a moment:

🌬️ Take a deep breath in… hold… and slowly release. 🌬️

Ask yourself: What do I need today? 🤔💭

Whether it’s rest, support, or simply a moment of stillness—honor that need. 💜

Caring for yourself isn’t separate from your service—it actually sustains it! 💪🏾❤️

✨ Challenging Media Narratives that Degrade Women: This session is designed for Black Men and Teen Boys, focusing on building media awareness. Participants will examine how music, film, advertising, and social media often promote narratives that degrade and objectify women. Through guided discussions, attendees will develop critical thinking skills to understand how media shapes attitudes, relationships, and behavior.

✨ Self-Care as Service to Family and Community: This session is exclusively for Black Men, shifting the focus inward to explore self-care as a vital responsibility rather than a weakness. This session emphasizes emotional, mental, and physical well-being as essential to sustaining leadership, connection, and service to family and community.

Knowing when to ask your sista for help is a powerful act of self-awareness and strength. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, constantly drained, struggling to find joy in things you once loved, or carrying emotional weight that feels too heavy to hold alone, it may be time to reach out. Too often we’re taught to “be strong” and handle everything ourselves—but real strength also looks like vulnerability.

Leaning on your sista circle—those trusted friends, sisters, mentors, or community members—can remind you that you are not alone in what you’re facing. Healing doesn’t always start with having all the answers; sometimes it begins with the courage to say, “Sis, I need you right now.” 💚
