Melanie has successfully undergone a liver transplant! She's out of surgery and recovering comfortably. We'll keep you updated as the days pass but we just couldn't wait to spread the word!

Those of you who are familiar with Melanie are aware that she is a private individual, and sharing medical information is challenging. Having said that, we would like to provide an update regarding the emotional roller coaster she has been experiencing. She received an offer for a liver transplant twice this week and today even proceeded to pre-op. Unfortunately, the transplant did not take place, and there can be various reasons for this outcome. However, Melanie has a highly competent team of doctors who are looking out for her best interests, and she will always trust their judgment. She remains optimistic, but this situation is difficult not only for her but also for her family, who are juggling time off work and traveling to and from Chicago. Therefore, let us extend our support and encouragement to Melanie and her family and give them a shoutout on this page. And, as always, we are grateful for you spreading the word.

As Mel's sister proudly sports a "piece of you" shirt, Mel looks forward to finding a donor, getting her transplant, and then heading south to bury her toes in the sand alongside her sister!
