Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day Blue Bird Day is an academically structured therapeutic program for children 2 - 7 years old. Feel free to connect with us via email or visit our website.

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child. We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved. Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well. Want to learn more, sign up for a tour, or have a specific question?

Our Blue Bird of the Week is Lucas! Lucas is our future basketball star, dribbling every ball in sight. He loves a thrill ride on the swing, and his giggles are contagious. Lucas reminds us that laughter is the best medicine and to not take life too seriously. We're so proud of you, Lucas!

For many neurodiverse children, big emotions can feel overwhelming. A transition that seems simple can lead to a meltdown, and a loud noise can feel scary. We understand how overwhelming this can feel when you see your child struggling. You might wonder if their reactions are "too much," but often, these are signs that your child's developing nervous system needs more support.

At Blue Bird Day, we see emotional regulation as a skill we can build together, not a behavior problem to be fixed. Our multidisciplinary team uses sensory-informed, evidence-based approaches to help children understand and manage their feelings in a way that feels safe and supportive.

We've detailed our entire approach in a new article, explaining how our therapists work together to support your child's unique journey.

Our Blue Bird of the Week is Sia! Sia is our mischievous social butterfly. She is a popular gal and often likes to stop her work to say hello to friends and teachers. Sometimes this includes chasing her favorites down in the hallway or staff office, but who could say no to such a friendly face?! If you are ever having a hard day, Sia is your go to gal. She can easily make you feel like the funniest person on the planet and brighten your day with her laugh. Ever curious, Sia loves to know what everyone is doing: from books to sensory bins, Sia is always willing to explore new things. From the moment she walks in the door, Sia is working hard to spread her spunky energy and learn new things. Every single one of her teachers agree that she is a determined little girl, always willing to work hard to achieve her goals (even if that goal is just testing out a new slime!) We are all so proud of you, Sia and can’t wait to see how far you’ll go!

Our Blue Bird of the Week is George! George enjoys watching baseball highlights and staying active in the gym, where he has the best time swinging and playing catch! Recently, when the weather is nice, he’s been spending more time on the roof, relaxing with a snack. He also has a curious side and enjoys exploring new experiences, especially when it comes to trying different foods.
