We are MU FX (Makeup Special Effects); a collaborative group of students of multiple disciplines who find interest in makeup special effects, and how it can be applied to reform and create worlds. Purpose
Through MU FX, we invite students to engage in abstract thought in all means. From using problem solving tactics to achieve a desired result, to reconstructing the human form into a bizarre and functional work of art; we invite those to apply themselves and their expressive abilities in order to bring fantasy to fruition. Through MU FX, we hope to offer portfolio building opportunities, interdisciplinary engagement, and an extensive view of the makeup special effects world. Membership and Dues
There is no fee associated with being a part of the MU FX. However, students will need to buy and/or have on-hand certain makeup, art, and personal items in order to achieve a desired look or effect if not previously budgeted; whether it be a personal or group project. Quorum
There is no limit to the amount of people that can take part in MU FX. We encourage as many students as possible to take part in MU FX so that more relationships between students can be made and thus more artistic collaboration. Non Discrimination Statement
MU FX will not discriminate against race, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. In the event of any sort of discrimination, the actions of the offense will be made known to the board members, and necessary actions will be made accordingly to assure the well being of the discriminated member.

Columbia's Office of Multicultural Affairs is looking for make-up artists to help with their Day of the Dead event. They need people between 5-6pm Friday October 28th. They will cover the cost of make-up. Anyone interested should contact Rogelio Becerra-Ramirez.

Hello continuing Columbia students!! Have you always wanted to make your Halloween injury make ups more realistic? Have you wondered how blood effects happen on stage and screen? Then sign up for Topics in Makeup: Injury Simulation!

It's a 2 credit class that is on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:20 all semester long. In addition to making realistic injuries, you also learn techniques to make your own blood and other bodily fluids!

If you want to sign up or have any questions about the makeup program email the instructor, Glenese Hand, at ghand@colum.edu with your name and oasis ID number so she can clear you for registration.
