Happy International Women’s Day! Women are changing the world every day! When I look to define the women of today- a few adjectives come to mind- strong, fierce, resilient, full of faith, kind, loving , hard-working, light in the midst of darkness and the rocks and foundation of our society!

When I reflect on my own journey as a woman- I wear many hats and titles - a Latina, a doctor, an advocate , spokesperson, teacher, catholic, first generation Mexican American and perhaps the title I love the most is- being a voice for those that have no voice ❤️

I have made it my mission to take on as many seats as possible to represent the under-represented and the economically and socially disadvantaged at a local and national level.

Love using my platform to promote health , improve health equity and bridge that gap! As I write this- I also have to remind women to get that pap smear, mammogram, colonoscopy and continue healthcare maintenance screening ! Health should also be a priority!

As I head to the celebration “ El Glamour de La Mujer” and I prepare to take the stage as a speaker- I am humbled to be able to continue to inspire la comunidad!
