As we enter the month of April - we start lung cancer awareness month!

We are launching a new Campaign by and to provide free screening with CT scan chest and even free transportation for people eligible to be screened for lung cancer in the state of Illinois !

Our goal is to screen , diagnose early and save lives!

Just finished interview with Mickaela Castillo for azfamily 3TV CBS 5 discussing air quality and allergy season in Arizona for all our allergy and asthma sufferers and what tips to help them cope with their symptoms and keep safe!

Also stressed the importance of keeping strict standards of particle pollution and EPA funding as it saves lives! If you can’t breathe- nothing else matters!

It’s a hopping sunday- starting a TV week of interviews! Love educating the public and keeping everyone healthy and safe!

Happy Sunday! Just had the pleasure to do newscast with Jorge Muñoz Avilés for Univision Chicago discussing a new free lung cancer screening in the state of Illinois to capture at risk people for lung cancer early.

1 in 18 people in the US will be diagnosed with lung cancer.
Lung cancer is the #1 cancer in men and women in the US.
225, 000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer every year and 125,000 people die from lung cancer each year!

Risk factors for lung cancer include current smoking, 20 pack year h/o to***co (1 pack X 20 years or 2 packs X 10 years or any combination) and if you quit smoking in the last 15 years.

The Initiative emphasizes the importance of early detection through screening, especially for women whose lung cancer often goes undiagnosed until later stages and aims to reduce longstanding disparities that have disproportionately impacted communities of color.

Now through the end of May, Illinois residents who are at risk for lung cancer may be eligible to access free, low-dose CT (LDCT) screenings through the American Lung Association. Residents can call a Lung Health Navigator at 844-ALA-LUNG to find out if they are eligible for a lung cancer screening. Through the Initiative, participants will receive information on finding nearby screening centers, guidance on how to obtain a referral from their doctor, assistance in understanding insurance coverage, and free transportation if needed.
