We are proud to announce that our SVP of Clinical Operations, Charlotte Smith, MD, FAAPMR was recently elected as the President for AAPM&R!

Dr. Smith, currently Vice President of AAPM&R, has been a part of AAPM&R since 1987 and has worked in every level of care, bringing forth a wealth of knowledge to tackle the latest challenges in PM&R. She is now President Elect and will serve as President in 2026.

We look forward to her many accomplishments as an integral part of Medrina and AAPM&R which aim benefit the field of physiatry overall

Our Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Matthew Cowling, DO, FAAPMR, gladly accepted the Early PM&R Career Award this weekend at the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) Annual Assembly!

The Early PM&R Career Award is a national recognition presented annually by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). It honors physiatrists who have been in practice for ten years or fewer and have made a significant impact on the future of PM&R.

We are grateful to work with Dr. Cowling and look forward to all that he contributes to the growing field of physiatry!

Occupational Therapists perform the critical function of empowering individuals to adapt and perform daily activities. Whether it’s tying shoelaces again or getting back to cooking, OTs assess and guide individuals toward independence. The importance of OT cannot be understated, and we rejoice in how we get to work with occupational therapists as a part of a collaborative team with the end goal of getting patients to live their lives to the fullest. Thank you, OTs!
