Forty Acres Fresh Market is a Black owned initiative on Chicago’s West Side. The butcher convinced me to try the oxtails. Low and slow wins again. I come from people who took what was leftover and made it a masterpiece. Proud of that heritage even some are actively attempting to erase the history.

I made a lima bean soup, but I added some sweet potatoes, swapped some collards for the spinach and added some barbecue sauce and used fire roasted corn instead of plain. It’s like a Southern stew.

Make up can change readings on equipment. The eyes are taped shut to protect the cornea during surgery. So, lashes can be a challenge. Many synthetic products are also flammable. Bare face is the safest look to bring with you on the day of surgery. ✨
