Changing Perspectives

Changing Perspectives Changing Perspectives is a multidisciplinary behavioral health care practice centered on culturally competent diagnostics, therapy, and consultation.

OUR GOAL is to provide culturally competent comprehensive psychological services in the form of psychological evaluation, consultation services, therapeutic services, advocacy, and preventative health care workshops aimed towards professionals, practitioners, and consumers. The aim of this practice is to provide these services to all communities, keeping in mind the need for decreasing the stigma associated with mental illness and working collaboratively within marginalized communities to promote healthy lifestyles. We will work to create a safe space where consumers, practitioners and professionals can be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. The primary theoretical orientation of this firm is Systemic which focuses on the individual in context and not only seeks to find suitable alternatives based on the individual’s needs, but works to provide resources within their schools, places of employment, and recreational endeavors. Other modalities of treatment include Geek Therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. Each client receives an individually tailored treatment plan that utilizes one or an integration of techniques in order to assist them along the process of self-actualization. OUR MISSION is to promote the holistic well-being of the individuals, families, and communities within the state of Illinois by offering multiculturally competent mental health and wellness services that are both affordable and accessible. We work to foster the principles of trust, confidentiality, empathy, advocacy, respect, and dignity for our clientele; and are committed to collaborative efforts that seek to provide community resources to better assist our consumers. We seek to help clients become the best possible versions of themselves through comprehensive mental health care.

Well family it's happening, , and I are going to host a 3 part Grown Folx Career Day that's set to kick off on Sunday, August 21st at 1pm-2:30 CST. If you want to join just drop it here in the chat or message me your email so I can include you on the zoom invite.

What careers, fields do you want us to focus on during this series? What part of the application/interview process do you find the most challenging and require support? How does salary transparency impact your current career and desire to move to a new field/or advance in your current field?

We'll get things going with:

August 21st - Back to Basics: From the Application to the Screener Call. Come learn new ways to approach your job search or career change--we're starting with reading the job description and taking you all the way through that nerve-wracking initial phone call with the hiring manager.

On September 4th, 1-2:30 CST we're hosting - Starting from the Bottom: From Mentee to Mentor. Networking in the new generation is about gratitude and modeling what you want to see in your field.

And Lastly September 25th, 1-2:3 CST we'll focus on, Not Your Grandpappy's Economy: Burnout and the Career Lifecycle. Look, we need to normalize quitting, pivoting, and stepping away from institutions to start something new in your own image.

Hope to see you there.
