Hello all, it’s been awhile! It’s story time….last summer, I had the opportunity to go to a friends cabin for a long weekend in a beautiful location with no cell reception. I couldn’t believe the sense of relief I felt being unplugged. It was a game changer. When I came home I committed to spending less time on my devices, and more time out in nature. I look so forward to co-hosting this event with Elizabeth in supporting you in reconnecting with yourself, your community and nature. Put this date on your calendar and keeps your eyes open for more details coming soon💚

I am so excited for this! 😍

Join me and Christa Dawson for a weekend camping get away to slow down, reconnect with Nature, and remember what it feels like to be a human in real time 😊💚✨

In today's world, where our cell phones have become nearly an extension of ourselves, it's important to remember to occasionally unplug. Disconnecting from our digital devices can work wonders for our overall well-being.

When we reduce screen time, we help protect our eyes from strain and fatigue. Plus, ditching the phone, especially before bed, can significantly improve our sleep quality, as the blue light from screens can interfere with our natural sleep patterns.

Remember how rewarding it can be to fully immerse yourself in a task without the interruption of constant notifications. You'll be surprised at the boost in your productivity and the improvement in the quality of your work when you're fully present.

Moreover, this digital detox can contribute to our mental health, helping to alleviate feelings of anxiety and loneliness that can stem from overusing our devices. You'll notice that real-life interactions become more meaningful when not distracted by the digital world, nurturing deeper connections with those around you.

And finally, by putting down your phone, you open yourself up to the present, cultivating mindfulness and a greater appreciation for the world around you.

Consider this your reminder to schedule a digital detox. Disconnect to reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and the world around you.

In the realm of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the most well-known and frequently used acupuncture points is Yintang, often referred to as the "Third Eye." Located between the eyebrows, this point is deeply connected to our sense of intuition and inner wisdom.✨

When stimulated, Yintang can aid in calming the mind, relieving stress, and promoting a deep sense of peace and relaxation. It's often used in treatments aimed at easing insomnia, anxiety, and tension headaches.💆‍♀️💆‍♂️

Next time you're feeling overwhelmed, lightly massaging this point can help restore a sense of calm and balance. Remember, every part of our body is a gateway to wellness. You can learn more about Yintang at the link below.

Yintang is an acupuncture point located between the eyebrows that we intuitively rub when we are stressed or anxious. Translated as "Hall of Impression", Yintang is one of my absolute favorite acupuncture points because of its extremely calming effect. It is a point I use on almost all of my patient...

Mindfulness is the simple yet profound practice of being fully present and engaged in the current moment. It is about appreciating the here and now without judgment, while consciously observing our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings.

It involves a non-reactive stance where we manage our responses to life's varied experiences, reducing impulsivity and fostering thoughtfulness. Mindfulness promotes acceptance - understanding that situations are okay as they are, even if they're not perfect. This doesn't imply resignation, but the acknowledgment of reality without wanting to alter it.

Incorporating mindfulness into daily life can enhance cognitive functioning, emotional regulation, and life satisfaction. It's an accessible tool we all have at our disposal at every moment, whether through formal meditation or mindful practices woven into our daily routine.

If you haven't already, start today. Embrace the power of mindfulness and witness the transformation it brings to your life.

Striving for balance is essential to leading a harmonious and fulfilled life. Here are five strategies to help maintain equilibrium in your personal and professional journey.

Set Clear Priorities: Understand what truly matters to you and ensure those areas receive the attention they deserve.

Establish Boundaries: Respect your time and energy. Set boundaries that protect your well-being and prevent burnout.

Embrace Mindful Living: Practice mindfulness in your daily routine. Be present in the moment and appreciate the journey as much as the destination.

Stay Active: Regular physical activity aids mental clarity and provides a healthy outlet for stress.

Nurture Relationships: Invest time in your relationships. Surround yourself with positive influences that uplift and support you.

Remember, balance does not mean equal time for all things—it's about allocating time and energy in a way that aligns with your values and enriches your life. If you are interested in booking a reiki session to help, message me, and let's schedule you. ✨

I hope you're enjoying your weekend and taking time to recharge and reenergize your soul. I have compiled a list of things you can do to help you focus on self-care activities designed to mitigate anxiety and enhance your well-being. Practice one or all of them as often as you need. ✨

💖 Allocate 10 minutes for meditation. Cultivate mindfulness, and allow the silence to create a sense of inner peace.

💖 Declutter a small space. Cleanliness and organization can contribute significantly to mental clarity.

💖 Sing your favorite song. Engaging in an activity you love can help elevate your mood and shift your perspective.

💖 Dedicate 20 minutes to reading. Immerse yourself in a narrative that allows you to detach momentarily from your usual environment.

💖 Prioritize a full night's sleep, aiming for a minimum of 7 hours. Quality rest is imperative for both physical health and mental resilience.

I have been practicing protecting my energy for years, and I will continue to do so for the rest of my life. It is an ongoing process and is never linear. Here are a few of the critical practices I put into place daily:

1. I only reply to texts when it's convenient for me.
2. I do not fight to be correct. I do not fight, period. I listen. I respond. I compromise.
3. I leave events when I feel too drained to stay or continue.
4. I take time to relax, reflect, and restore my well-being.
5. I place my phone in silent or Do Not Disturb mode when I need peace.

What are some of the practices you utilize to protect your own energy?

Have you been noticing yourself feeling extra stressed or anxious this week? Here are six ways to self soothe when you feel overwhelmed:

1️⃣ Positive Self-Talk - Speak kindness into your life. Remember that you're strong, capable, and doing the best you can. You are enough, just as you are.

2️⃣ Music Therapy - Tune in to your favorite melodies. Let the rhythm sway you, the lyrics inspire you, or the beat energize you. Listen to what your soul needs from the music.

3️⃣ Shower or Bath - Water has a wonderful way of washing away our worries. A warm shower or bath can help you feel refreshed, relaxed, and ready to face whatever comes next.

4️⃣ Meditate and Hydrate - Take a few moments of silence to breathe and be present. Pair this with a glass of water to nourish your body and mind.

5️⃣ Sleep! Quality sleep can be a game-changer. It can renew your energy and offer a fresh perspective. Aim for a restful night's sleep or even a power nap.

6️⃣ Deep Breathing - When things get tough, remember to breathe. Deep, mindful breaths can slow down your heart rate and help create a sense of calm. Inhale peace, exhale stress.

Remember, taking a moment for yourself is okay when you need it. You're not alone. Share these tips and let's encourage each other to practice self-care daily, not just when we need it. 💖✨
