From our very first days at The First Church of the Nazarene to the center we call home today, animals have always been part of the joy here. Over the years, our participants have been greeted by a sweet pig, a gentle pony, a cuddly lamb, colorful birds, loyal dogs, and playful puppies — each visit bringing smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

There is something special about the connection between people and animals. Whether it’s the comfort of petting a calm dog or the excitement of seeing a pony up close, these visits spark memories, conversation, and pure happiness. We are so grateful for the many animal friends who have walked (and trotted!) through our doors and the joy they continue to bring to our center.

We are so excited to share that we’ve been selected as the local charity for this month’s Charity Bingo Night at Ramble West Brewing! 🎉

Join us next Thursday evening as we cheer on the players and share more about the Peg Taylor Center and the adults and families we serve right here in our community. It’s a fun, easy way to give back—come play bingo, enjoy great company, get some dinner from EJ's Burritos and support a local nonprofit doing meaningful work.

As we begin our 40th anniversary year, WE PAUSE TO REMEMBER WHY the Peg Taylor Center exists. Our story begins with Peg Taylor—a woman whose life’s work was rooted in compassion, service, and a deep belief that every individual deserves to live with dignity, in their own homes or with family for as long as possible and safe. You can read about Peg Taylors life accomplishments and what led her to opening an adult day health are center on the image below.

Peg’s dedication to supporting adults and their families laid the foundation for what would become the Peg Taylor Center. Her vision was simple yet powerful: to create a place where individuals could remain active, supported, and connected, while giving families the peace of mind they deserve. Forty years later, her legacy lives on in every smile, every program, and every moment of care shared within our walls.

The video closes with an image of a recipe book that was sold as a fundraiser for our current building. It’s a touching and inspiring moment as Peg introduces herself and the center, reflecting on her first visit to an adult day care center and how it shaped her vision. When this building was first built, it became a place grounded in care, connection, and community. For decades, these walls have welcomed participants and families, holding countless memories along the way.

Today, the Peg Taylor Center continues to stand strong—refreshed with new logos, new signage, new front doors in the works, and a vision for updated landscaping that will further enhance the warm, welcoming environment we strive to provide. As we celebrate 40 years, we honor where we began while thoughtfully growing toward what’s next. 💙

Did you know that our first 5 years of service were spent at the First Church of Nazarene, now known as the Hope Commons Church. We didn't move to our current location until January of 1992. These photos are some of our earliest.
