Just got the "light bulb" moment about fully understanding what's so bad about Fracking. I watched the movie: GASLAND. Well done!
The CAUSE to end Fracking should be called something else. The
destruction and IRREVERSIBLE contamination and pollution is extreme.
Fracking is the method of extracting Natural Gas. It completely poisons the water table, killing fish, land and water animals. oh, and people. It's done in remote areas, people are too small to fight the big corporations: who are exempt from ALL the Environmental Laws (Dick Cheney/Bush did this).

At the City Council Meeting someone mentioned there is tent city of homeless folks that's growing in Bidwell Park under the freeway, by the construction.

Then the other morn, Kosmic Kev mentioned that Lake Concow is going to be losing their water, too. I haven't gone to the Aqua Alliance website for details of whose taking their water and what for. It is a reservoir, so maybe someone reserved it (ha, ha)

Well: I'm making an apology: after listening to the City Council Meeting that was streamed live from KZFR, I had quite a wake up call. I didn't realize the SERIOUSness of our Chico Budget deficit.
We owe 4.8 million a year just for the payment and that doesn't pay down our loan.
The City is planning on closing Bidwell Park, the Fire Station by the Airport (which would end up closing the Airport), reducing the Police and Fire personnel.
Once you get past the "Oh No" and hear all the details, it's what HAS to be done.

Hello, Reggae Facebookers: I'm vending next weekend (June 9,10,11) at the Reggae in the Hills Music Festival at Angel's Camp. I get 4 free day passes for my work crew. Anyone up to going? you'll have to figure out transportation and camping. I don't have any work for you to do, so you'll just have to play the whole time.
