Every year, Chico Eye Center celebrates Staff AppreciationDay (3/6/26) all month long. Today we’re celebrating our Billing and Surgery Scheduling Team.

From helping patients understand their benefits to coordinating surgical care, their work ensures that every step of the patient journey is organized, supported, and seamless.

Patients may not always see the countless details they manage, but their dedication allows everything else in our practice to flourish.

Thank you for being the steady foundation that helps our entire team bloom. 🌼

On Saturday Dr. Gilbert, Dr. Houlihan, and Dr. Liston attended the Rotary Club of Chico Sunrise’s 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Gala at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, an event which benefits local youth programs and of which Chico Eye Center is a proud sponsor. Attendees enjoyed a traditional Irish dinner, a beer & wine bar, live music and DJ dancing, and some great auction items to bid on. Dr. Liston bid on and won a delicious French vanilla rum raspberry cake decorated as a leprechaun hat, which was donated by Upper Crust Bakery and Cafe. Everyone at the table got a slice for dessert!

Behind every successful visit is a team preparing rooms, assisting providers, supporting patients, and making sure every detail of care is just right. Their clinical expertise, compassion, and teamwork help our patients feel safe and supported throughout their journey.

Like flowers opening to the sun, their hard work allows our patients to see the world more clearly and live their lives more fully.

From warm greetings and helping patients feel comfortable, to answering questions and keeping our days running smoothly, they set the tone for every visit. Just like the first blossoms of spring brighten a garden, their kindness and organization brighten our office and our patients’ experiences every single day.

Chico Eye Center is making an appearance today at the third annual Butte/Glenn 8th Grade Career Day at the Glenn County Fairgrounds. We’re displaying our Meta smart glasses, and demonstrating how to test for color blindness. We’re also telling the kids about how the medical field is a great career, not only for doctors but also for in-demand, certified/licensed positions for which one can train on-the-job or that only require minimal school.

We’re excited to share the news of the birth of Dr. Gilbert’s 6th grandchild!

Josephine Rose, 7 lbs 2 oz., was born last Thursday, February 19. Congratulations to Dr. Gilbert’s daughter Gayle and her husband Harrison!

Harrison was worried he might have to deliver the baby himself on the way to the hospital because they barely made it there in time. She delivered 20 minutes after getting there! 👶

Did you see it snowing in our area for about an hour this morning? It was really coming down at the Eye Center! We think this is the most snow our area has seen in many years.
