Strong Again Yoga and Movement Arts

Strong Again Yoga and Movement Arts Strong Again Yoga How it works:

All classes run on a 6-week cycle. Payment is due in advance to hold your place in class. This accomplishes several things.

Classes are capped at approximately 15 to ensure quality of instruction and personal attention. First, it takes a minimum attendance of twice weekly, for six weeks, to actualize basic results. Second, paying in advance creates accountability on your end for showing up. We care about your progress forward and investment in self-care! Six weeks is a manageable time commitment. Please note there is a full week off between six-week cycles to rest and refresh. There is no auto debit required or long-term commitment. The retention rate is very high. Classes cap at approximately 15 participants. Signing up a minimum of two weeks prior to the next cycle is highly recommended. Clients who are currently enrolled are given preference for class enrollment. Classes are then filled on a first come, first serve basis with pre-payment. Rates:
Group classes meeting 1x a week = $85.00 (6 classes)
Attending 2x’s a week = $145.00 (12 classes)
Additional classes for current clients over two classes a week are given at a $10.00 per class fee in advance.

*Drop-ins are available as space allows = $17.00 a class and require a conversation with the instructor

Because you reserve and hold your place in class, refunds are not given. Additionally, missing a few classes due to life circumstances does not constitute a reduction in rates or make up classes. Personal One on One appointments require a full 24-hour cancelation. Fees for missed sessions /appointment are not transferred to additional appointments/classes. Holiday and peak seasons require a 48-hour cancelation (November 15th – January 5th and July -September 15th).

"Exciting news! Today I had the pleasure of taking a class from another teacher. It's always such a joy to receive in this way! As part of my path to balance after experiencing burnout, I've had to relearn my practice three times now. But each time, life, health, or circumstances require starting over, I'm given a chance at a beautiful new approach. I learn more about myself, teaching, and having a beginner's mindset. Starting over is an opportunity to learn more about balance. So, embrace those times when you shift in and out of balance as the rich opportunities that they are! Stay tuned for more about my journey and how I'm rebuilding my practice. "

Enjoy your tea!

"If while washing dishes, we think only of the cup of tea that awaits us, thus hurrying to get the dishes out of the way as if they were a nuisance, then we are not 'washing the dishes to wash the dishes.'

What's more, we are not alive during the time we are washing the dishes. In fact we are completely incapable of realising the miracle of life while standing at the sink. If we can't wash the dishes, the chances are we won't be able to drink our tea either. While drinking the cup of tea, we will only be thinking of other things, barely aware of the cup in our hands. Thus we are sucked away into the future and we are incapable of actually living one minute of life."

I have a new client who came to me to build strength. A woman in her 60’s. She is in great shape because she keeps moving. An avid swimmer who has built community within her fitness practices. (Community builds the likely hood of continuous and committed attendance) Swimming is an excellent way to take the load bearing off hips and knees. She and I practice ways to increase core strength and mobility while honoring movement that is healthy for her current range of motion. I also see a ongoing client at her place of residence who, recently had knee surgery. We use the pool to rebuild strength as she builds readiness to re-enter the studio setting. Dedicating my morning swim to these fabulous woman!

Socrates, Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements). In yoga, the term Satya (Sanskrit: सत्य; IAST: satya) is a Sanskrit word loosely translated as truth, essence.[3][4] It also refers to a virtue in Indian religions, referring to being truthful in one's thought, speech and action.[5] In Yoga, satya is one of five yamas, the virtuous restraint from falsehood and distortion of reality in one's expressions and actions.[6]

Truth worth reading

In Ancient Greece, Socrates had a great reputation of wisdom. One day, someone came to find the great philosopher and said to him:
- Do you know what I just heard about your friend?
- A moment, replied Socrates. Before you tell me, I would like to test you the three sieves.
- The three sieves?
- Yes, continued Socrates. Before telling anything about the others, it's good to take the time to filter what you mean. I call it the test of the three sieves. The first sieve is the TRUTH. Have you checked if what you're going to tell me is true?
- No, I just heard it.
- Very good! So, you don't know if it's true. We continue with the second sieve, that of KINDNESS. What you want to tell me about my friend, is it good?
- Oh, no! On the contrary.
- So, questioned Socrates, you want to tell me bad things about him and you're not even sure they're true? Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve, that of UTILITY. Is it useful that I know what you're going to tell me about this friend?
- No, really.
- So, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor useful. Why, then, did you want to tell me this?

"Gossip is a bad thing. In the beginning it may seem enjoyable and fun, but in the end, it fills our hearts with bitterness and poisons us, too!" - Pope Francis

Some of the strongest people I know have cultivated the art of soft. A paradox and true... In yoga, the terms abhyasa and Vairagya line up with doing and allowing to bring ease into our life’s. Past force and control, there is ease and allowing.
