Dear Valued Patient,
I am writing you today to inform you about the steps we are taking at our office to keep you safe and healthy and to hopefully put you more at ease in knowing your health is of upmost importance to us. The Corona virus, COVID-19 is likely to cause only mild to moderate symptoms in most of us, but it can be serious in some people so it is crucial that we all do our part in preventing its spread.
There are new measures we are now putting into place to minimize patient risk. Because we have patients of all ages and levels of immunity, we are choosing to use the utmost precaution to make sure you are not exposed when you visit Lopes Chiropractic Health Center.
We will be thoroughly washing hands or applying hand sanitizer before each patient. We have obtained a list of disinfectants the EPA has approved that can kill COVID-19. We will be using those products to clean surfaces in between patients, including face rests, furniture, doorknobs between each patient. We will be checking ourselves and our patients for signs of fever and other symptoms that might indicate COVID-19 and not treating people if they might be ill.
If you or anyone you have been in contact with have a fever or had one within the past two weeks, we respectfully ask that you do not visit our office and consider self-quarantine immediately. Fever is usually the first symptom of COVID-19 even before the presence of a dry cough and/or sore throat. Please stay home and notify your medical doctor if you have had any upper respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, sneezing, congestion, difficulty breathing).
Additionally, please apply hand sanitizer when you enter our office or you can use the bathroom sink to wash with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
I advise that you maintain healthy lifestyle habits. Sleep deprivation, stress, excess alcohol or caffeine all decrease immune function. Set yourself up for success with good self-care. Nourish your body with healthy whole foods and drink plenty of fluids.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and patience as we navigate implementing best practices during this time. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Lopes, D.C.
