🩷So much gratitude for this heartfelt testimonial!
Throughout our prenatal time together Katie & I were able to build a close & trusting relationship, becoming close with one another so that on her birthing day she was truly comfortable leaning on me for support. At our very last prenatal meeting she had mentioned that maybe her waters were leaking & after we had left each other she had confirmed this was the case & now contractions were starting to come on, so we both went home to rest & prepare to eventually meet each other again later. When Katie called me to join her she was so beautifully laboring in the tub, already in active labor. She leaned on me for support & guidance in those moments where labor felt hard, through the intensity of bringing forth her baby girl, & she did it! Building these relationships with birthing parents means so much to me, thank you Katie🩷

🧡Supporting birthing parents is even more special when it’s someone you’ve known for a very long time. It has been absolutely amazing to watch Jill & Cory become parents to their baby boy, the sweetest thing was sitting back & witnessing the love between them as Cory so tenderly supported Jill in her labor & the cherry on top… watching him catch their son in his own two hands. What an incredible experience! Thank you for making me a part of it all🧡

🤍It’s been two full weeks since our last nursing session, I thought I would be so much sadder than I actually am. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally a little tiny bit sad, but what I feel the most is a sense of growth & excitement for moving on to new stages of life.
We made it to 705 days of breastfeeding, we shared our milk with 3 other babies, including my niece, which makes this journey feel even more close to my heart.
I think weaning or breastfeeding coming to an end has a million different feeling that come with it, however long you made it, one day, one month, one year or more, be so proud of yourself.🤍

🤰Early Labor, or the very beginning of labor- contractions have started & might be coming somewhere between every 20–15 minutes, they might be inconsistent in timing, last only a handful of seconds, & typically feel like menstrual cramps (sensations of labor are different for everyone). Over time, contractions will work up to be longer, stronger feeling, & closer together.
😴It’s exciting to realize that you will be meeting your baby soon! We never know the timeframe of labor & birth, try to get rest if & when you can during early labor, remember to stay hydrated & well nourished, try to ignore your contractions until you cannot ignore them anymore. Do things that make you happy with people who mean the most to you, support people should be encouraging the laboring parent to rest, drink, eat, & speak positively. Keep the flow of oxytocin going!❤️
☎️Call your provider if/ when: your water breaks, contractions have worked up to “every five minutes, lasting one minute long, are much more intense, & this pattern has been happening for at least one hour”, or if any concerns come up for you.
