📚🌍 World Book Day: A New Chapter for Ross County Readers

For nearly 20 years, United Way of Ross County has proudly funded and administered the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, delivering free books each month to thousands of local children.

Today, we’re celebrating World Book Day by launching our new Imagination Library Book Re‑Share Program! We’re now collecting gently used Imagination Library books to give them a second life in the hands of families across our community.

If your child has outgrown their favorites, consider passing them forward. Together, we can spark imagination, grow young readers, and keep the joy of books moving through Ross County.

Attendees will learn practical ways to manage stress, advocate for their children, and support their well-being. Parents and caregivers who attend will also receive a $10 stipend.

🌟 Early Intervention Success: Livvy’s Journey

We love being able to share a success story, especially when the kiddo is still thriving in our Ross County Help Me Grow/Early Intervention program!

Meet Olivia, or Livvy for short. She was born with torticollis and later developed plagiocephaly, requiring a cranial helmet earlier in life. Due to limited access to local therapy options, she missed some developmental milestones by a couple of months. She just needed a little extra support to catch up.

Within weeks of starting services, changes were very noticeable. When she began the EI program, Livvy was sensitive to textures. She avoided putting pressure on her hands, didn’t enjoy unfamiliar textures, and struggled with certain sensory experiences. Like many toddlers, she was also a little clumsy and hesitant to explore her environment.

Ms. Cailyn was Livvy’s EI support, and they always look forward to their meetings. Through community outings, tactile play, and other fun activities, Livvy gained confidence, strength, and curiosity. She learned that it was okay to try new things- even when they felt unfamiliar at first.

Today, Livvy is a confident toddler who is willing to try just about anything. Her growth has been nothing short of amazing.

We are so grateful for Early Intervention and the dedicated professionals who help children like Olivia reach their full potential. Livvy’s journey is a reminder that early support truly makes a lifelong difference. 💛

Way to go Olivia ❤️
