Our goal: help families affected by this government shutdown/food crisis.

Many families in our community are facing food insecurity due to the current government shutdown. Together, we can help make sure no one goes hungry.

We are collecting Easy-to-Make Food Kits and Gift Cards to support local individuals and families in need!

What can you donate?

Non-Perishable / Easy-to-Prepare Foods

Boxed pasta + sauce
Canned soups & chili
Peanut butter & jelly
Crackers
Canned vegetables & fruit
Granola bars / snack packs
Rice & beans
Instant oatmeal
Shelf-stable milk
Canned tuna or chicken
Please avoid expired or opened items.

You can drop these items off as you’re coming in for classes or call or text 740-253-5941 to schedule a drop-off time.

Each food kit or gift card provided will enter your name in a raffle to win a class pass. 😃

We will be delivering these items to families in need as we receive them. An encouraging note or even instructions to make the meals might be helpful. We greatly appreciate this community and your help to make sure families are not going hungry during these wild times.

Brahmacharya
The word Brahmacharya comes from Sanskrit:
Brahma = the divine, ultimate reality, or truth
Charya = conduct or path

So, Brahmacharya means “conduct that leads to the divine” or living in a way that aligns your energy with your higher purpose.

Traditionally, it referred to celibacy or moderation in sensual pleasures, but in a broader and more practical sense today, it means:
• Moderation in all things — not overindulging in food, entertainment, or sensory distractions.
• Mindful use of energy — channeling your life force (prana) toward growth, creativity, and spiritual awareness.
• Balance and self-control — choosing what truly nourishes you rather than what merely stimulates you.

🧘‍♀️ In daily life, you can practice Brahmacharya by:
• Setting healthy boundaries with technology and social media
• Eating and drinking in moderation
• Getting adequate rest instead of burning out
• Being intentional about how you spend your time and energy
• Cultivating relationships that uplift rather than drain you

Today I’m grateful for enough — enough breath, enough time, enough strength in my body and peace in my heart.

Asteya, the yogic principle of non-stealing, reminds us that gratitude is the key to abundance. When we stop comparing, rushing, or grasping for more, we realize that everything we need is already here.

On the mat, Asteya means honoring your body’s limits instead of pushing past them.

Off the mat, it’s about giving thanks for the present moment instead of wishing for something else.

Take a deep breath in gratitude today — for what is, not what’s missing. 🙏

Yama’s
Asteya - is the third Yama in yoga philosophy, as outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The word comes from Sanskrit:
“a” = not
“steya” = stealing
Asteya means non-stealing.

But it goes far beyond simply not taking physical things that don’t belong to us. Practicing Asteya invites mindfulness around all forms of taking what isn’t freely given — including time, energy, ideas, or attention.

Ways to Practice Asteya in Daily Life:
Respect time: Arrive on time and honor others’ schedules.
Practice contentment: Avoid envy or the urge to “have” what others do.
Acknowledge inspiration: Give credit where it’s due.
Conserve energy: Don’t take more from people or the planet than you need.
Be present: Appreciate what you already have instead of constantly seeking more.
Ways to practice Asteya on the mat:

Not pushing yourself to “steal” a pose your body isn’t ready for. Instead, practice with patience and gratitude for where you are today.

Our Story

We offer beginners yoga, yin, buti yoga, children's yoga, advanced, mixed level & barre Classes. Rainbow is Chillicothe’s first premier yoga studio in downtown Chillicothe offering traditional yoga and hot yoga.

Rainbow has a wide variety of classes on the schedule. We made it our priority to be able to cater to all skill levels. Check description of classes out on our website.

All of our instructors are certified and have so much love and passion for what they do. We look forward to seeing you on the mat!
