Raise your hand if you (or your kiddos) are working from home now. Same here. Let’s shift for a moment and think about if we are ergonomically set up for long hours at your new workspace, which I hope isn’t your bed. I’ll never let you hear the end of it...yes you!
So in the spirit of trying to help you from a distance, here are the top tips for a conscious workspace. (*Remember this refers to an actual science which experts have assessed. ) 1. Chair: one that doesn’t have to break the bank but does have to be comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. One with options to adjust height, backrest and armrests. Keep those feet flat on the floor, or get a footrest. Arms at a height where they are comfortably at the same height of the desk. 2. Desk: does your desk have a monitor stand? If not, consider adding one. Your screen should be about arms length from where you are seated. Your eye level should be 2-3 inches above the top of your monitor. If you’re using a laptop, like most people, then a stand makes even more sense for you...don’t forget about raising your keyboard and mouse too. Keeping them close together to avoid any awkward reach is helpful. Extra tips; a lumbar support on your chair can help avoid back strain. If your chair didn’t come with one, you can buy separately. Anti glare cover for your monitor or blue light blocking glasses 🤓. Last but certainly not least, get a plant. It will make you smile and promote clean air.
You’ve got this, friend! I hope to see you soon.

Soothing touch, whether it be applied to a ruffled cat, a crying infant, or a frightened child, has a universally recognized power to ameliorate the signs of distress. How can it be that we overlook its usefulness on the jangled adult as well? What is it that leads us to assume that the stressed child merely needs “comforting,” while the stressed adult needs “medicine”? — from Job’s Body: A Handbook for Bodywork by Deane Juhan⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s crazy how much our mental state can effect our physical state. Taking time out for meditation or to just breathe is the best medicine for your state of mind. Take care of your body & mind and it will take you where you want to go in life.

Pain in the butt! (Not my model 😉). The piriformis. This is one way to stretch that muscle from the face up position. Sometimes when we try and help ourselves we stop as soon as we feel the pull or slight pain. I can especially observe your ‘end feel’ which means where you can’t be pushed any further. This end feel is almost always further than what you will do on your own terms. Getting help stretching is a great way to help loosen the tightness and pulling of sore or strained muscles. Slowly and with clear communication yield the best results.
Did you know that a chiropractor can help relieve the pain too? Come on in and check out the highly sought out Dr. AJ
and get familiar with his hands on healing and aligning your bone structure naturally.

For a more personalized session I like to take the time to assess joints throughout the body. I can easily incorporate this into the flow of my massage. By doing so, I then have a better idea how effective my time with you will really be.
