Health begins long before someone enters a hospital.

Public health efforts help protect communities every day through education, prevention, vaccinations, and programs that support healthier lifestyles. These efforts play an important role in keeping families safe and reducing the risk of disease.

During National Public Health Week, we recognize the professionals and organizations working to strengthen community health and expand access to care.

What steps do you take to support your health and well-being? Share in the comments and encourage others in our community to do the same.

March is National Kidney Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of kidney health and the role early detection plays in lifelong well-being. Your kidneys work behind the scenes to filter waste, regulate fluid balance, and support heart health, so understanding your risk and taking action early can have a lasting impact on overall health.

Simple steps like regular checkups, monitoring blood pressure and blood sugar, staying active, and making heart-healthy nutritional choices can support kidney function and help identify concerns before they become serious. If you have questions about your risk, talk with your healthcare provider about appropriate screening and preventive care.
