Often, we hear the phrase, "A penny for your thoughts" as a means of encouraging someone to share what may be on their mind. That said, equally often we think SOME thoughts should be kept to yourself. Enter the – a day that encourages people to acknowledge the thoughts they usually keep to themselves. These ideas might be uncomfortable, odd, or simply not shared aloud.

This observance reminds us that everyone experiences such thoughts, and it’s a natural part of being human. By recognizing them, we can better understand ourselves and others. The festival promotes openness and self-awareness, fostering a sense of connection among individuals. After all, YOUR thoughts are worth infinitely more than just a penny!

Back in the "olden days" students relied HEAVILY on a card catalog in the library... especially when doing research for a school project. And, while the nature of academic pursuits has DEFINITELY evolved, we still pay homage to , which played a major role in setting our Founder on a lifelong quest for knowledge. And, it just paid off AGAIN, as she has completed ANOTHER post-graduate degree – with high honors!

On this solemn day, we remember those at Pearl Harbor on that fateful morning... AND, the wave of patriotism it ignited....

Yet, among those young men we picture lining up to volunteer, we often overlook the thousands of WOMEN who also joined the war effort simultaneously!
