The lifestyle of most Americans almost certainly guarantees acute and chronic back and shoulder pain. Massage was once considered a luxury, reserved for the privileged few who could afford it. Nowadays it has become more commonly accepted that massage has long-term health benefits and is part of a healthy lifestyle. Form defines function. In layman's terms, if one thing is out of whack, everything else gets out of whack. Things no longer function the way they are intended to and it often leads to pain, stiffness and decreased performance. We tend to lead stressful lives which exacerbates our physical pains.
