IODINE is a key mineral that supports metabolism, hormone balance, cellular detoxification, brain development, and immune function.
Iodine isn’t only stored in the thyroid—it also accumulates in the breasts, ovaries, prostate, salivary glands, and brain.
When levels are low, it can affect the entire body, leading to symptoms like fatigue, cold hands and feet, brain fog, hormonal imbalances, and low emotional motivation.
Many people—doctors included—have hesitated to recommend iodine supplementation out of concern that it might “shut down the thyroid.”
But this confusion often traces back to the use of RAI (radioactive iodine) in hospitals, which was introduced in the 1940s to ablate overactive thyroid tissue or treat thyroid cancer.
It’s important to understand that nutritional iodine—like Lugol’s Iodine, Nascent Iodine, or Iodoral—is a completely different substance. It doesn’t destroy tissue; it nourishes it.
As with any other supplement, too much can be harmful, so it is a good idea to consult your practitioner. This information is for awareness purposes only.
In this post, I’m talking about nascent iodine, which you can find at www.drclarkstore.com.
