Movember is an annual event that takes place every November, aimed at raising awareness and funds for men's health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health challenges. While the iconic Movember movement often conjures images of men growing mustaches to spark conversations and solicit donations, there's another fantastic way to get involved: by moving your body. This year, consider participating in the "Move for Movember" initiative, where individuals commit to running or walking 60 kilometers (about 37 miles) over the month—representing the 60 men we lose to su***de every hour globally. It's a powerful way to spotlight the importance of physical and mental well-being. Encourage your friends and family to join you in this health-promoting challenge, or sponsor someone who is participating. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps change the face of men's health. So lace up your sneakers, set your goals, and get moving for a cause that matters.

Support men’s health. Get fit and have fun while doing good. Run or walk 60km this Movember to fund cancer research and mental health projects.

Did you know that research suggests overly strict parenting might lead children to develop better lying skills? This intriguing insight highlights the importance of a balanced approach in guiding children. Effective guidance is not about imposing rigid rules, but about cultivating a supportive environment where children feel secure to share their thoughts. Setting clear guidelines is essential, but equally important is nurturing open dialogue that promotes honesty and mutual respect. How do you approach parenting in your household?

A recent study highlights an unintended consequence of overly strict parenting. Children who fear punishment may become better at lying because they are motivated to avoid trouble. The more anxious a child feels about being reprimanded, the more they practice deception as a coping strategy.

These children are not inherently dishonest. Instead, they are learning adaptive behaviors to navigate an environment where telling the truth feels unsafe. Over time, repeated use of these strategies can make them highly effective at concealing information.

Experts suggest that fostering open communication and a safe environment for honesty is far more effective than strict punishment. Children who feel secure are more likely to tell the truth, express feelings, and develop trust with their caregivers.

Balanced parenting, which sets clear boundaries while encouraging dialogue and understanding, reduces the need for children to lie. It teaches problem-solving, accountability, and emotional regulation instead of secrecy.

The study serves as a reminder that parenting style shapes not just behavior, but the strategies children use to cope with challenges, making trust and safety key to raising honest kids.

In every moment, no matter how challenging, there is always something to be thankful for. Gratitude is a powerful lens through which to view the world, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. It encourages us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the small joys that often go unnoticed—the warmth of a morning sunbeam, a kind word from a friend, or the simple pleasure of a favorite song. Embracing gratitude doesn't mean ignoring life's difficulties; rather, it provides a foundation of positivity and resilience. By focusing on what we have rather than what we lack, we cultivate a mindset that can uplift our spirits and inspire those around us. Remember, gratitude is a practice, and each day offers a new opportunity to discover the blessings that surround us.
