Teaching massage therapistshow to use their bodies in entirely new ways over the course of three days can be physically and mentally exhausting.

I pour everything I have into helping massage therapists lengthen their careers by teaching them body saving techniques.

Last weekend, a group of massage therapist gathered together from several different states. And they all left as friends.

Is there a weight limit to do barefoot massage? Technically, no. But you also have to use common sense.

In order to effectively learn Barefoot Massage, you must be a massage therapist. This might ruffle some feathers, but I think that learning any kind of modality online is foolish.

When I teach classes in person, each therapist feels the strokes from me, they hear me explain them they watch me do it. They work on clients who are experienced at giving feedback. They can ask all the questions they want over the 24 hour class.

An oldie but goodie.

In my humble opinion, feet usually feel better for deep tissue massage than pointy thumbs, knuckles or elbows.

Try to talk me out of it. 🤔

Who the heck does barefoot massage?

That would be me, Mary-Claire. Licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board (33.008321) since January 15, 1999 (yes, I remember the date!). Why barefoot massage? The benefits are awesome for both my clients and me. It feels great, their results are long lasting, and I don’t feel like a T-Rex with itty bitty arms screaming after a long day of work. That’s why I teach, too, why I innovate. Because I need to help those who know there MUST be another way to do the work they love without killing themselves.
