Our hearts are with Louisville 🫶🏻

We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

At the Institute for Reproductive Health, our thoughts are with everyone affected; the victims, their families, first responders, and the entire Louisville community. We hold our Louisville patients and their loved ones in the area especially close in our hearts during this difficult time.

"We will always be forever grateful for everyone at IRH! After 5 long years, many losses, blood, sweat, and tears, we finally welcomed our rainbow baby girl 6 weeks ago. We could spend a lifetime saying all kinds of great things about Dr. M. Awadalla and Dr. Scheiber. They made what felt like the impossible happen for us. We spent quite some time in the OB/GYN's office, going through surgeries and taking medications, to no avail. She pointed us in the direction of IRH. We were hesitant taking such steps because we just never thought our dreams of creating a family of our own would ever come true. Dr. M. Awadalla was very reassuring during our consultation and the entire process of our IVF journey. We couldn't imagine such a smooth journey with such a caring medical team elsewhere. Especially when it comes to going through losses. We will definitely be back when we are ready to continue growing our family!!"

🌍 💜 Today is World Fertility Day 💜 🌍

Observed every year on November 2, World Fertility Day is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about fertility issues, breaking stigmas, and supporting individuals and couples on their path to parenthood.

At the Institute for Reproductive Health, we stand with everyone navigating fertility challenges. Whether you’re seeking answers, undergoing treatment, or supporting a loved one, today is about education, empathy, and empowerment.

Why this day matters:
✨ Raises awareness – Fertility challenges affect 1 in 6 people worldwide.
💬 Breaks the stigma – Open conversations help end the silence and isolation.
💪 Empowers individuals – Sharing experiences helps others know they’re not alone.
⚖️ Promotes advocacy – Everyone deserves equitable access to fertility care, regardless of income, location, or identity.

🫶🏻 Some of our favorite local infertility nonprofits:
Parental Hope
Jewish Fertility Foundation
The Madeleine Gordon Gift of Life Foundation

💜 Together, we can foster understanding, hope, and compassion. Because everyone deserves the chance to build the family they dream of.

🌟 What a week! Growth mindset in action!
Dr. Marja Brolinson King and Dr. Michael Scheiber attended the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) conference in San Antonio, Texas , and we’re thrilled to share some exciting news!
🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Brolinson King, who was recognized as lead author of a Prize Paper Award at the ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo!
Her research, titled: “Optimizing Pain Control Following Oocyte Retrieval – A Randomized Blinded Placebo Controlled Trial Assessing Ketorolac Efficacy and Fresh Embryo Transfer Outcomes,” was a prospective randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled trial evaluating the use of ketorolac (Toradol), an IV NSAID, after oocyte retrieval.
💡 Key Findings: A single dose of ketorolac significantly improved pain control and reduced narcotic use , without increasing complications or affecting reproductive outcomes in patients undergoing fresh embryo transfer.
🎙️ Dr. Brolinson King was also invited to discuss her findings on the Fertility & Sterility Podcast. Keep an eye out for the episode airing soon!

"We experienced two years of unexplained infertility and failed medicated cycles and decided to turn to IRH for help. Dr. King genuinely listened to our concerns and allowed us input for our care plan. We never felt like “just a number” to the IRH staff. We went through four IUI cycles and decided to move forward with two subsequent IVF cycles. We had one embryo to transfer each cycle, and were blessed with our sweet Daisy Jane on August 27, 2025 from our second cycle. Many thanks goes out to the IRH staff, with special shoutout to Drs. King and Robertshaw for the absolute best care and compassion!"

"American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists - ACOG reaffirms the safety and benefits of acetaminophen use during pregnancy.
More than two decades of research have found no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability in children. Acetaminophen continues to be an important and safe option for managing pain and fever in pregnancy—conditions that can pose serious risks to pregnant patients and their fetuses if left untreated." "We couldn’t be more grateful to IRH for bringing us our miracle! After three failed IUIs, we decided to start the IVF process. We received so much support and encouragement each step of the way and our first frozen embryo transfer worked! We welcomed our beautiful son, Fitzgerald, just a few days shy of Christmas! Words cannot describe the immense gratitude we have for the entire team at IRH. To all the nurses, providers, administrative staff, and so many more, thank you for bringing all our hopes and dreams to life!"

After 14 months of trying and a second trimester loss, we pursued IVF to help ensure we would be able to bring a healthy baby into this world.
