Every time holidays come up, we get together with family and they like to tell us physical therapists, how much what we did helped!!!
“Oh, but then it got bad again.”
🤨 ouch.
I know that we (PTs) can make you feel better, give you REALLY GOOD relief! It may even last you A YEAR!
But aren’t you sick of it coming back? Of course you are. That’s why you’re going back to the medical doctor/surgeon who thinks you tried it all or aren’t willing to do any more for yourself.
A MINDSET shift needs to occur.
And it starts with you & your family.
Here’s a start:
🦋motion is lotion. If you expect to move without it, good luck.
🦋no one else can truly fix your problems but you
🦋the best results will come from the most amount of effort put in - usually this means 4-6 months rehab MINIMUM
🦋when you try to/do something new you have to prepare for it, progress towards it!
🦋one set of exercises doesn’t always work because certain things are done for certain reasons at certain times of healing or sport
🦋challenge = change
🦋injections and medications are usually bandaids
🦋surgery requires harder work than p/rehab
🦋if you’re starting at 0 and expect 💯, you have 99 steps to take in between. You can’t skip or stop.
🦋aka we develop and walk you through a full plan of care for a reason. That’s why our job exists. To help & guide you.
So before you go back to the medical doctor/surgeon: ask yourself:
Did you give physical therapy your all? 💯
Did you go through and FINISH their & your plan of care?
Or did you stop when insurance stopped covering it?
Did you stop because they said you could walk again but you wanted to run?
Or you felt better and said to yourself “I’m fixed!” I can take it from here?
Be HONEST. 💙
It wont be easy.
It won’t be quick.
All good things take time & we know you want it to stick!
We are good at what we do.
So if you commit to us, we will commit to you.
