Some of us made questionable skincare choices in 2025…

2026 is the year we stop doing the things our skin has been politely (and sometimes not so politely) telling
us it hates.

piling on new products. Truly.
Here are the skincare habits we’re officially leaving in 2025 👇
❌ Over-exfoliating
Your skin barrier is not the enemy. Daily exfoliation usually equals stressed, irritated, angry skin.
❌ Heavy fragrance in skincare
Smells cute… causes redness, irritation, and breakouts. Fragrance is a big trigger for reactive skin.
❌ Skipping SPF
You already know. No sunscreen = chaos. Period.
❌ Not reapplying SPF
One morning layer isn’t enough, especially if you’re outside, driving around Cincinnati, or using active
products.
❌ Popping or picking acne
Every squeeze pushes bacteria deeper, increases scarring, and invites more breakouts. Leave
extractions to the pros.
❌ Using makeup wipes as your cleanser
Great for emergencies or travel. Not for daily cleansing. They leave residue and don’t truly clean your
skin.
❌ Using body lotion on your face
Different skin, different needs. Your face deserves face products.
❌ Sleeping in makeup
This one ages skin, clogs pores, irritates eyes, and wrecks your barrier. Makeup can stay on all day — not
all night.
