Sophia’s lucky number is three, so for Episode 3 of Stick With Me she’s back in the donor chair for her third blood donation—this time at Hoxworth Central.

Even better? She’s not alone. With two other donors joining her, that makes three people donating together.

While Sophia has made progress—after working at a blood center for almost a year, she doesn’t mind seeing blood in the collection bag anymore—the thought of needles and veins still makes her very uncomfortable. But with the help of her trusty Liquid I.V., a little courage, and maybe a prayer, this turned out to be her quickest donation yet.

Friday Donor Spotlight! Today we're talking about Michelle Mullins of Richmond, Indiana, has been a dedicated blood donor for decades faithfully giving to patients she will likely never meet.

For years, her donations were an act of quiet generosity for strangers in need. But recently, a loved one’s cancer diagnosis gave her commitment to Hoxworth a deeply personal meaning. When her own mother’s life depended on blood transfusions, Michelle saw firsthand the lifesaving impact of donors just like her. Now, she shares her experience donating with Hoxworth and reflects on the profound gratitude she feels for the blood donors who helped save her mom’s life.

Darcie Hester knows how precious every moment can be. After suffering the unimaginable loss of two of her young sons to congenital heart and birth defects, she understands firsthand how critical care and the blood transfusions that often support it can mean the difference between more time and goodbye too soon.

Today, she and her husband Ryan are turning their grief into hope, honoring their sons by advocating for families facing similar diagnoses and reminding our community of Greater Cincinnati why Hoxworth blood donors play such a vital role in helping local families cherish every possible moment together.
