💡 Wisdom Wednesday

At Saint Joe’s, our mission is carried forward by the incredible people who show up every day with compassion and dedication.

Last week, we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day with sweet treats as a small thank-you to our amazing team — from nurses and DSPs to finance and HR.

To our amazing staff: thank you for the heart you bring to Saint Joe’s every single day. 💙

💙 Mission Monday: Welcome Lori Walters

Today we’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Saint Joe’s leadership team — Lori Walters, CPA, our new Chief Financial Officer!

Lori brings extensive experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle leadership, and financial strategy. Before joining Saint Joe’s, she served as Divisional CFO for the Home Health & Hospice division at CommuniCare, where she helped strengthen financial systems and support operational excellence. With a Finance degree from Washington State University and a Master of Accountancy from EKU, Lori is passionate about ensuring strong financial stewardship so our mission can continue to grow and serve more individuals and families.

But Lori’s impact goes beyond spreadsheets and strategy. She loves partnering with teams across the organization to make sure every decision supports the compassionate care Saint Joe’s is known for.

Outside the office, Lori stays busy as a proud mom to two boys — Connor (a student at the University of Tampa) and Ethan. When she’s not keeping up with them, you might find her kayaking, hiking, enjoying a good book, or cheering on her favorite team — the Seattle Seahawks.

A few fun facts about Lori:
☕ Coffee connoisseur and roaster
📊 Excel guru who loves turning data into stories
🌲 Outdoor enthusiast who recharges through adventure
🏈 Loyal Seahawks fan — Go Hawks!

Please join us in giving Lori a warm Saint Joe’s welcome! We’re grateful to have her leadership helping guide our mission forward.

Wisdom Wednesday: Fun Times at Day Program! 🎉

Our Day Program participants have been making the most of every moment! Recently, they celebrated with a Mardi Gras party, explored the aisles at Jungle Jim’s (even getting to meet the owner, Jim!), enjoyed a little McDonald’s lunch treat, and were serenaded by a special musical guest, Nick and the Grocers. Every day brings new experiences, laughter, and memories in our Day Program! 💙

💙 Feature Friday: Celebrating Janet Neidhard 💙

Today is a very special — and bittersweet — day at Saint Joe’s.

After five years of dedicated leadership, Janet Neidhard is officially retiring as our Chief Financial Officer.

Janet joined Saint Joe’s on February 3, 2020 — just weeks before the world changed. Through uncertainty, growth, and new opportunities, she has been a steady, thoughtful presence guiding our organization with integrity and care.

Coming from a for-profit background, Janet made the intentional decision to align her career with her values. She once said after interviewing at Saint Joe’s, “This is good. This is what I want to do.” And we are so grateful she chose us.

Beyond her financial leadership, Janet brought her whole heart to our community. From leading Christmas caroling cottage to cottage, to sharing music alongside her family during special celebrations, she reminded us that Saint Joe’s is more than a workplace — it’s a community.

Janet, thank you for your wisdom, your faith-filled leadership, your laughter, and your steady hand over the past five years. You have helped ensure that our mission will continue to thrive for generations to come.

Please join us in wishing Janet a joyful, well-deserved retirement! 🎉

💡 Wisdom Wednesday: Did You Know?

Did you know local volunteer groups are always welcome at Saint Joe’s?

We love partnering with schools, businesses, churches, and community groups to create meaningful experiences for the individuals we serve. Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome students from Saint Ursula Academy to our Adult Day Program!

The group spent the afternoon making fizzy slime, playing musical chairs, and sharing lots of laughter. Our participants had an absolute blast — and so did we. 💙

Volunteers don’t just give their time — they bring energy, connection, and joy into our programs.

If your teens, coworkers, or community group are interested in volunteering with Saint Joe’s, we’d love to connect! Please reach out to us at info@stjoescincy.org

❤️ Feature Friday: Valentine's Day at Saint Joe’s ❤️

Our residents and their families gathered in Seton Hall for a joyful Valentine’s Party filled with sweet treats, laughter, music, and meaningful time together. It was a beautiful reminder that Saint Joe’s isn’t just a place to receive care — it’s a place to celebrate life and community.

Over at Day Program, the fun continued with creative Valentine’s crafts, festive activities, and plenty of smiles. From decorating to dancing, our participants made the day extra special.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Recreation Teams on Main Campus and at Day Program for making these moments possible. Your dedication creates opportunities for connection, celebration, and joy all year long.
