We are proud to have any part of the impactful work led by the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition (HC ARC) in our region. This coalition of experts is dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome challenges related to addiction. Their recently released Annual Report highlights remarkable progress: since the crisis peaked in 2017, Hamilton County has experienced a 66% decrease in overdose deaths! Even more encouraging, the data shows a consistent 30% year-over-year decline, with overdose deaths decreasing from 277 in 2024 to 194 in 2025.
The report, which reflects 2025 data, also spotlights the opening of the Talbert House Hamilton County Crisis Center—a 47,000-square-foot facility designed to serve as a centralized hub for addiction and mental health crisis intervention, stabilization, and treatment. This new center represents a major step forward, creating a more streamlined, coordinated, and responsive system of care for our community.
Alongside the work of the Hamilton County Public Health Department, The Health Collaborative is also featured in the report. It specifically highlights our specialized trainings for the region’s Chief Nursing Officers, which focused on reducing stigma, increasing understanding of the role of syringe exchange services, and sharing best practices for emergency department response to addiction-related crises.
Thank you to our own VP of Clinical Strategies, Tiffany Mattingly, who serves on the Steering Committee and as co-chair of the HC ARC Community Health Committee, alongside THC board member and Hamilton County Public Health Commissioner, Greg Kesterman. We also extend our thanks to Josh Arnold, a new THC board member, for his leadership at Talbert House. We are grateful for their service and for the dedication of all HC ARC members.
