Today is National Girls & Women in Sports Day. This day honors the achievements of female athletes and promotes gender equality in sports.

Jamestown, Ohio native Grace Norman is a prominent Paralympian known for her achievements in the paratriathlon. She is a four-time Paralympian medalist, winning gold in the paratriathlon and the bronze in the 400-meter track and field race in Rio in 2016, winning a silver medal in Tokyo in 2020 in the paratriathlon, and winning gold in Paris in 2024 in the paratriathlon. She is training for the next Paralympic games in 2028 in Los Angeles. Go Grace!

Shoutout to Ryan Spill’s patient, Michael!

Check out these fantastic photos he sent us from a work site, back in the field and working on a large welding project. As a below-elbow amputee, he’s been fit with a carbon fiber socket built to take the punishment—on the job and off.

His terminal hook helps him get into tight spaces and dial in the exact position needed for the most intricate work.

We love sharing moments like these and we’re so proud to be part of Michael’s prosthetic care journey.

Join The Bridge Adaptive Sports & Rec for it's Adaptive Track & Field Try-It Day on Sunday, February 1 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Armory Fieldhouse at the University of Cincinnati.

The Bridge's adaptive track and field programming welcomes athletes of all abilities ages 7+ to explore movement and learn track and field skills. Participants will be able to try frame runners, push rim racing wheelchairs, and seated throwing.

Equipment loans for people interested in competing on their middle or high school track teams can be arranged as well!
